Default Zero degrees and Z withdrawl

Well if you live in the NE like me, you know all about the artic temps, and this damn snow.... all i have to say is that after enjoying the car since September, the last 2 weeks have been hell, the car has spent about 99.9% of that time in the garage, and i find myself sitting here, at my comp, nice and warm, while she sleeps in the cold garage with the lawnmower.. Its scary how upset I am about not being able to drive this car, and the attraction ive grown to it after only 4 months.... Then again it isn't any other car, its a Z... anyone else in the same boat?

I guess on the bright side, im not even at 3k miles yet, so im well under my lease requirements, guess ill just have to make up the time with long summer drives, with the windows down and the music up.

I know the feeling. I've had my Z since April 03 and due to work travels and weather, I've put maybe 3000 miles on it. I tried taking it out of the garage over Xmas when the road was snow covered and vow to never do that again. I've read about how others handled in the snow but decided to see for myself. It was amazing how easy that back end slips out with the stock tires.

Sucks making the payments during this time of year but at least the miles stay low.

I hear ya. Mine is sitting inside too and I keep hoping for the weather and roads to clear up so I can drive the darn thing. I think I'm just hoping I'll wake up and it'll be April and sunny out.

Buy snow tires. Then you can drive it all year round and get to do donuts and figure-eights in empty parking lots when it snows hard.

My little brother is up at harvard and he's pretty pissed at the temperature differential right now.

We got our Z (Nov 19th '02), and then it started snowing! And never stopped till March!

This winter, it's the cold. Really worries me to drive with the flux in the temps and those low pro tires. All it takes is one good pothole. Take air out, put it in!

Withdrawl?? Wow! I can't stand it! Must drive car everyday. Must Drive.....Drive....

I took my Z out yesterday after a snow/ice storm had passed through the night before and I nearly lost it twice. Should have stayed home but I had an appointment to get Borla headers installed.

RWD + Z Power + snow = YIKES!!

Just got my Z on Saturday- took it out with the wife on Saturday
night. On the way home it started to snow (on the FIRST DAY)
and I drove 6mph the whole way home. I took it to my local tire
emporium today for snow tires (Blizzaks or Nokias) and the owner
strongly advised me not to get them, and just don't drive it in
ice/snow- I appreciated his honesty but now I'm considering
getting a beater for the winters (I also have a '99 Honda Accord
that my wife uses).

It was just under 100 F a day ago as it will be give or take 10 degrees for the next 3 months. We never see snow and most winter temp is above 60 F - usually 70 F during the day.

Z weather all year!!!!

Wow...I'm suprised...people that run tire shops usually know what their product is capable of. My Z with Michelin Pilot Alpin snow tires, with it's RWD, VDC, and ABS is AMAZING in the snow. They are 200% better than the stock RE040s were in the snow...those things were useless.

I'm sure snow tires help but I just use my grand cherokee during the winter. Lack of ground clearance is still an issue with snow tires in more than 4 inches of snow and I don't want all of the sand on the road hitting the finish. The Jeep has about 175,000 miles so it's definitely in the beater stage.

Unfortunately this winter I don't even have a garage to put my Z into. We are remodeling our house and our garage has been unusable since late November so my Z has been sitting out in the snow. It has only been driven when the roads have been snow and salt free, but it has been way too cold lately to give it a good wash and wax. The other day I had to take it to my grandparent's house to store it since the roofers were throwing shingles and nails onto the driveway and since I took it over there it snowed and the roads are all iced up so I have no idea when I will even be able to get it home. I can't wait for summer!
