Default new owner - upgrade advice (nothing about intake/exhaust/turbo)

hi friends, I just bought a 05 z33 6mt base. it has 66k miles and I paid 11k for it. Hope it is a good price.

I had a s13 with sr20det, moved on to g37 coupe sport and now a 350z.

I am not looking for "speed" upgrade but I am looking forward to enhance my driving experience.

obviously I have no vlsd/tcs/vdc and I am interested in the following mod, keep in mind that I will not get any engine mod, including bolt ons.

I was wondering if they are overkill for bone stock engine, just wanna hear what you guys think.

-jwt cluth/flywheel
-vlsd
-brembo brakes
-tires without upgrading the wheel either hankook Ventus R-S3 or Potenza S-04 225/45-17 235/45-17

thanks for your advice in advance.

2 problem noticed:
1) I noticed that my clutch has a rubbing noise... whenever I let go of my clutch in 1st gear. What does that mean?

2) I like to down shift, brake, gas through turns but when I down shift at about 40mph the car shift tails. This was a bit unexpected. Do you think the tire/vlsd upgrade will resolve this issue?

thanks for reading!

Im gonna give you some advice for your next post, do some searching cuz the flaming is coming if you keep doing this.

Secondly in no way is that overkill, thats not even any major modding the car, you will be fine. Your tires on the other hand, are you tracking the car? or using it for daily? If its a daily car and your just looking to get better experience, get the hankook ventus v12s, cheaper and might last a bit longer on the street, great wet and dry performance, i only use the R-s3s for track and autocross days, unless i have the name wrong for my race hankooks.

What do you mean by the car shift tails? you get your rear end throwing out when you power out of turns? if the answer is yes than the tires and LSD will help you out with that, Look at the hankooks and a quaife LSD since you have a base model

Welcome.
I'd not fool with the stock 17's.Upgrade to 19's with Hankook v-12's
Save up your bucks until you can do it right.

What do you mean by shift tail? Are you saying you downshift mid turn and just pop the clutch and gas it? It sounds like you are saying you downshift, brake (pull weight off rear) and then gas it. What do you expect to happen?

Get the brakes, skip the clutch and flywheel until yours needs replaced, skip the stock sized tires, and skip the vlsd (get something better).

hi friends, thanks for your input

may I ask why 19s?

why not do 17x9 and 17x10 to save tire cost? 235/40/17 and 255/40/17

also I am under the impression lighter rotating mass= win

sorry about "shift tail"... I meant to say fish tail.

the non-performance tires that came with the car are fairly new with at least 15k miles of regular driving left on them (per my eye ball)

I will definitely consider the quife lsd

Most people go with 18's or 19's as a compromise between good looks and performance, but if you prefer the look of 17's then go with what you like best.

Google "heel toe shifting." In order to prevent you car from losing control while downshifting in turns you need to rev match.

Also just be aware your car has a lil bit of power and the throttle is very touchy so when your dowshifting and coming out of turns your have to be aware the power is going to the back wheels, the wrong angle can throw your car into a spin. just learn to drive your car a lil bit more.
