Realistic prices on Z's today?
Ive been looking at a Z for about a month now and cant really get a estimate on how much i really need for a decent used 350z. I was wondering if i will be able to get a Z for about 8k or is that just impossible. I have a friend that bought a Z for 7k and its exactly what im looking for. Just really want to know if its even possible to be able to find that price.

an 03 Z that wont give problems. Maybe between 100 - 150k miles because i know anything under a 100k miles will probably go over 10,000. And pretty much stock i have more a less an idea of what i want to do with it once i get it.

Don't get a 03, my dash constantly rattles. Drives me insane. Get a 04/05 skip the 06. You can get a 03-05 for around 10. Bone stock most likely. If miles don't bother you I'm sure you can find a base/track model with 150K or more for around 7-8.

Absolutely! But you've got to shop around and don't get in a rush. If you want an 03-07 coupe and your willing to go with 90K+ miles (which actually is very low mileage for a Nissan), you can definitely get one in that price range -- especially with CASH!!!

Thanks a lot. I will look around and hopefully get my future Z

nothing wrong with an 03. my dash doesnt make noise, or it didnt till it got broken into, and rt now with whats missing it still doesnt... but ya cant go wrong with any z, just make sure clutch is fine. there is a normal noise when the clutch isnt engaged if your going to get a 6 speed. id sell mine for 8ish if i was going to. sometimes i think about it but just 2 hard to part

I have an ’03 and my dash doesn’t rattle. If you buy an ’03, there are some things you should check:
1. Some ’03 cars had a problem with the transmission. You can determine if it’s OK from the test drive. You are looking for any grinding when changing gears. Don’t worry if the car’s maintenance record shows a swapped transmission since this was the repair for the problem I mention.
2. Check the power window motor by simply rolling the driver’s window up and down. If it doesn’t operate smoothly, the motor requires replacement.
3. The camshaft position sensor goes bad in the ‘03, but there is no way to test this. The fix is a replacement, but it’s not expensive.
The 350z is a remarkably reliable and durable automobile. I have an ’03 that I’ve spent very little doing repairs, and it looks like new. It's worth about $9k as a trade-in (what the dealer offered me).

I've modded my 03 (mildly), and I think I barely notice the rattles and noises when it's really cold outside. Other than that, it's a car and is supposed to make noise.
My Z also has less than 60k miles on it. Maybe it's how people take care of their cars that matter.

Seriously? All cars will rattle over time. New cars will have noises that may drive people insane, but that's something the owner shouldn't let under their skin.

If your trying to get at I don't take care of my car, it's far from that. It's driven once a month, kept in a climate controlled garage, and it hand washed/waxed/clay barred once a month so it's far from not taken care of.
If you do your research, like I have. The 03-04 models have a dash rattle overtime that comes from the metal knee brace/reinforcenent on the passenger side. Its a simple fix just takes time too fix which some people don't have.
I was just telling him to look out for this when buying, same for the window motors. Mainly the driver side.

Please don't assume that you've done more research than anyone else. Again, relax. Not all cars are built alike. Lots of people complain about the other year models, but everyone drives and treats their cars differently. I don't have that rattle, and for the most part, my 03 Z has treated me very well.
