I went and talked to my dealer today and ordered my Super Black Track!!!

I got a great price with the car fully loaded except side airbags. The one interesting thing to note is that my guy told me about the ordering windows Nissan places on the dealerships and thus the fact that he may not actually be able to order my car until a week or two from now. I'm okay with that, but the EVEN more interesting thing is that the order window for 2004 Maximas, Altimas and a few other Nissan cars is closed permanently... all the 2005 models are getting rolled out! So, he told me his rep is coming in on the 23rd of Januray and he will get the 2005 350Z rollout window for me and see if we shouldn't hold off on placing the order for a few weeks to see if I can get one of the very first 2005 models!!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed... but no big deal if I still get an 2004... I'm not expecting any huge changes for the 2005s.

On a side note...

Many people on here expressed some concern about this so called "document processing fee" that dealers were adding on. I can confirm that all dealers have this, however, the "customary" $500 number that people have been getting quoted is... get this... [cough]********[/cough]. It's costs $50. I paid $50. Don't get ripped.

Also, the base lending rate for 350Z's right now, through Nissan is 4.5%. You might be able to get better elsewhere, but don't buy into any dealer trying to make points off of you saying the base is 5% - 6%. Sh*t, Nissan is giving 1.9% on just about all the rest of their cars... So feel free to negotiate and push this rate down... in the end, it really is only "free money" for them... not too many people don't pay off their cars.

wow thats surprising seeing as how were only about 4 months into the new car year. I had mine placed at the dealer as early as possible for a 2004, and after the 3 month wait it was here at the beginning of nov. Good luck. I also have a super back track, so maybe i will see you around Chicago! Make sure you get good towels from www.dftowel.com because the swirld marks show up quickly, even with good towels. Good luck which ever way you go. Which dealer did you go to?

I went to Mid-City Nissan in Irving Park. I live downtown though... just off of Chicago Ave...

I'll probably be heading to some Z meets after I get my car in the Spring.
