Just bought my Z yesterday, I'm only 5'7 or so, I tend to sit really close to the wheel as well Also fidgeting lots to find the perfect distance.
If I sit any further back I have to over-extend my legs for the pedals way too much. Bought it used, luckily the windows are tinted so no one will see me sitting so close like some old grandma!

I'm 5'7 and I sit fairly close to the wheel. I like to be able to fully depress the clutch and not have to reach. It's funny because so many of my friends are like "why do you sit so close" and I go "because racecar"

Also, I hate when people get in my car and move my seat. I feel like it takes me at least a week to get the position back to how it was.

I know how you guys feel with the seating not being comfortable. I'm 5'10" and I swear sometimes my seat moves on its own or I'm asking my girl if she moved my seat. LOL. I found that cloths do play a big part in the positioning especially shoes and if i'm wearing shorts or jeans. I too wish the stearing wheel was telescopic and I was planning on finding some pwr seats for the fine adjustments.

On my manual seats, I found there are two different slide position (angle notching). Sometimes I'll notch it normally where the seat is straight forward with the steering and sometimes I notch it at an angle; I can stay in the same notch but only move the left side up one notch which gives me a better position for your cruising, left hand at 12 o' clock, position. Kind of a mid notch adjustment. Not sure if all manual seats are like this but give a try.

I feel your pains guys. For me, another trick is too redline the car in 1st and 2nd to wake the car up a bit, after it reaches normal driving temperature of course. This really helps my car drives much more responsive and smooth and not soo sluggish and heavy feeling.

Also, for the drivers who says just jump in and drive, I think they're more in the dark then we are. Check out this video. I'll bet many of you will jump back into your car and reposition your seats, except for you max out guys. haha!

I'm 6'1" (175lbs) and my seat is pretty much all the way back with I'd say medium recline. That's just my preference since I like to be comfortable when driving and I'm not always driving aggressively. That being said I have an RJM clutch bracket installed so I can afford to have my seat all the way back since it takes me considerably less effort to work the clutch now.

When I am in the mood for some aggressive driving I always change my seat up when I get in so I'm sitting more upright. My

I'm 6' even, and I'm sitting close enough so I'm not stretching my leg to completely depress the clutch, and so that I feel like I have full control of the steering wheel; full control meaning I'm also not stretching my arms to reach the wheel and steer...it all comes down to personal preference. Simply put, if you sat in my driver's seat without knowing my height, you'd probably think a short guy drives it.
