You don't need a window motor. Mine failed o/s and when i went to use it there was no noise at all, no whirring noise, nothing. It sounds like something has become disconnected. I suppose you could buy one and keep it as a spare (they all seem to go at some stage) I've got myself a spare for the nearside as it's starting to wind up & down more slowly than the new motor.

I can hear noise with mine so I doubt anything is disconnected. I was going to just clean my current one but from what I've read people have had success for a week or two and then they had to replace it completely. I'm just going to replace it so I don't have to deal with it again.

MMmm you have a whirring noise when you operate your window switch, so the motor is obviously working. have you thought that the coiled cable that winds the window up and down maybe displaced and is spinning against nothing? Your motor has not failed.
Check the repair link and you'll see what i mean.

Thanks man, I'll check that out tomorrow. Hopefully that's the problem because it would be an easy fix.
