I just verified with my wife and she did change my car to geico. Shes just worried about the premium going up. I think that I would save money doing it on my own and the guy that told me about getting it painted for me gets refferals from the local lexus and BMW so im sure he does good work.

I was in a similar circumstance - I have 21st century insurance. I was a victim of hit and run in a parking lot as well. Had to get a new front bumper and passenger fender. Fender was cracked. I filed a police report on the spot - left it where it was parked. My insurance did not go up at all because I was legally parked and not at fault. Obviously every company is different.
I would definitely get a new bumper. I guess our cars don't deploy airbags if the car is off huh? - that looked like a pretty good shot that might have done it. I can't believe how r'tards drive in parking lots.

yeah I usually handle the car finances but since I just recently got promoted to management and I was flooded with work and my policy was about to expire so I left it to her .of course the car is more valuable to me then to her as you can see.lol

I would also check if there are surveillance cameras around. Hopefully one of them, if there are any, caught the person who did this.
Sorry about the situation though, best of luck to you.

Insurance companies always get their money back though and bump up your premiums. I think that's what OP is afraid of.
If it's just the bumper you're replacing and can't find the hit n' runner, I would just pay out of my pocket to get it fixed and not go threw the hassle of insurance.

There's a couple things to think about when in this situation. Have you taken a look behind the bumper for internal damage, impact bar, absorber? Or judging from the damage to the upper bumper I'd double check the hood fitment, and upper radiator support.
It would suck to do this yourself thinking oh just a bumper replacement, take it apart and end up spending more to fix everything. And one last thing, silver can be a pain to match so painting just the bumper you will more then likely have color issues with the hood and fenders.

got tired of looking at my scratched up bumper and wont have a day off until friday, looking closely I noticed that the clips wernt broken and didnt look like anything got damaged behind the bumper.I think it was just a heavy vehicle not that much of a hard hit since there is barely any room to get speed where I parked that day.
Ill be driving with a Chase Bank blue bumper.
