ah well its too late now. he called me last night and said hes gonna leave 5:30 in the morning. I should be able to pick up the car at about 2pm. Its now 1230. But yeah, seriously I dont mind the extra miles. 200 miles < a 3 month wait.

ohhh man. Its cold outside - maybe around 33 degrees - but its sunny as hell. Besides the cold I wouldnt have it other way.

Got some good news and bad news.

The good first. Car arrives. Everything I expected and more. Dealers even went out their way and installed a clear bra which covers the front and part of the hood. Only charged 300 bucks for it.

The bad. I didnt get to drive it off the lot!

Ok some background - Just turned 21 years old. Car is a present for my birthday and kinda a gift from my mother since im going back to school after an absence. Well anyways, we were trading in my sisters 2003 civic ex +a nice down payment for it since she does not in need of the vehicle anymore.

Heres the dumb part on my behalf. *Zips on flame retardant suit*

Since my salesman said nothing of giving the title to him I thought it wasnt necessary. So I drove there today without that in hand. Told me to just grab it and went home to do so. Could not find the damn thing anywhere! So unless I find it (which seems impossible - i tore the damn house up as you can imagine)
im going to have to wait for a replacement.

Well my overlooked mistake cost me the satisfaction of being a proud new Z owner today. Ah well you live, you learn.

ps - really, pics cannot do the Z justice at all. It looks a million times better in person.

as everyone says, dealer exchange is common. They even hire people out to do the drive. The first car I bought like that, they drove it down (was snowing...bad weather). The next time, I drove to the dealer it was coming from and drove it back. Long day (400 miles round trip), but I got the car on my terms when I wanted it.

Yeah, it is common as others said.
My friend just bought 2004 Hyundai Tiburon GT V6, and it was located about 100 miles from the dealer he purchased the car. He got a little bit worried and told the salesman to hold him until he goes and pickes it up, but it turns out to be a retired old gentleman who is just doing the job for fun and actually my friend felt a little bit sorry to be an **** ***

It's common, the same happened to mine. My dealer did an exchange with a delaer in another state. My Z was flatbedded half way and driven halfway. I thought it would be flat bedded all the way and told the sales manager I didn't want it if had more than 100mi on it. He then pulled up mapquest and calculated the mileage from his dealership to the other and it cam out to ~80mi. When my car arrived I told them that I had to look it over before signing anything and found that it had ~60mi on it. The sales manager was cool and threw in a cargo net for free. After I thought about it 100mi wouldn't have been so bad, I put about that many on it that night . I guess I was just expecting the mileage to be like my bike's when I bought it 0.0mi

5.0mi here.

Paid an extra grand for it (cheaper at another dealer) and had to drive it 400miles home, but it was worth it!

quick lil story - im sure this guy gonna work it bad. before i could drive stick he took me out in one. he told me he was an ex-rally car racer. long story short he pushed the HELL out the car. got out all i smelled was burn.

cool guy, just hope i dont smell that right when it pulls up!
Call him and tell him not to exceed the breakin instructions Nissan recommends. You are buying the car, not him. TELL HIM NOT TO DO ANY HOT ******* OR YOU WON'T TAKE THE CAR!
