Based on everything posted here, I'd have to agree with everyone on the tire mismatch being part of the problem. By not having snow tires on the front, you're essentially giving the car a split personality in terms of handling.

You guys are alright. I agree with pretty much all of you. Even the guy at the tire shop told me Blizzak will only sell in sets of four. Of course, he only had two left and we all need to make money.

I did a bunch of road tests yesterday at various speeds and the alignment is fine. The stock tires are hard as a rock and, in addition to the mismatched rear Blizzaks, instant high speed instability. I'm going to try and get in touch with Bridgestone on whether or not they have some sort of specs (% wise) for loss of traction (think friction coefficients) on high performance tires-such as ours vs. temperature. I doubt they went through the trouble in testing, but you never know. It would definately be some cool info.

FYI, I remember an article once on how some tires (don't remember exactly which they used) went down to a scary 60% traction in the rain at 65mph, which is the speed limit on most highways. Imagine banking a nice tight corner under those conditions. And then they wonder why so many kids are crashing sports cars out there. People sometimes don't realize how important driving conditions are. I love speed but I also love my a$$.

ps- I am canceling the appointment and if by some chance, the problem still persists in the summer, I'll get it checked out then.
