Honestly, if you were planning on upgrading parts for your base, than don't get oem parts. Aftermarket is better, regarding lsd you can get a drop in quaife for base model for about 950 which is way better than stock diff. If you want to upgrade your headunit get a double din, I just got a sony xav 701 that has mirrorlink for about 500 new, its definitely better than the stock bose unit and you can stream pandora. So yeah do more research on what it is that you specifically want and compare units/ parts.

What is it that you want the limited slip differnetial to do for you? It is an expensive upgrade and not one that a typical driveway mechanic can do. As mentioned, the OEM LSD is not considered very good by a lot of folks and there are better (and worse) aftermarket LSDs.

I have an 07 Enthusiast with the OEM LSD. The car is my daily driver and my weekend track car. I have had no problems with the OEM LSD on or off track although the traction control makes my car undriveable on the track and I always turn it off. I think if I were racing, doing time trials or maybe just a better driver a non viscous LSD might be of benefit. For now I'm leaving the OEM unit alone.

If you don't drive on the track and/or have problems hooking up out of a corner, etc, then no need wasting money on an LSD.

A real LSD is light years better for corner exit on the track, even around town. Then the VDC/TCS thing, I can get within 2 seconds of my normal time , sometimes less with it turned on. It's really no intrusive when your driving well

I've heard that as well. I've also heard that hard driving and long run times will cook the viscous LSD. And yet, I've heard a Spec Z car builder say that a beginning spec racer can get by with the OEM diff initially. My current opinion is that it is not nearly as bad as some say it is but eventually unsuitable for competition.

On the track I run a square set up (07, HR, Enthusiast) and TCS (I do not have VDC) will not allow hard acceleration out of a corner under any conditions. And it has nothing to do with the quality of driving unless by "driving well" you mean slow. This can even show up on the street. With OEM wheels, no problems at all on the street, moderately intrusive on track.

Even with the stock wheels the VDC was intrusive on my 06 G35 6MT and had a tendency to cook the rear brakes on the track. Again, no problems on the street.

I've found no benefit in running VDC or TCS on a dry track in either car.

I've recently installed the Quaife LSD on mine. And I can say with full confidence that it helps during turning and under acceleration. My only issue was I wasn't used to it and rabbit started from a stop sign and it had me sideways in the middle of the street. The Quaife is the way to go!

Get the lsd man. You wont regret it. I got an 07 base and it made the car amazing with a quaife lsd. You will need to get the Quaife ATB Helical LSD Differential. This a great system for base 350z. I would recommend bringing it to a reputable mechanic or take it to Nissan to have them do the install. You will need shim kit and some other stuff for the swap. Here is a list of the parts that I needed for install:

Bearing Drive
Bearing Pinion
Seal Oil Drive
Seal oil Diff
Gasket Plug
bearing Diff
Three bond
lsd oil
shim kit

Trust me you wont regret doing this. It gives you so much more traction from a stand still.
