Tell us the story about the day you bought your Z
Cars that tried to race/entice me to race on my FIRST day owning it:
2012 Bentley Continental GT
2008-10 Corvette
older Subaru Impreza
Not to mention the Bentley and Corvette were at the same time...
One flew in front, the other one on my driver side.

In one week I'll have had my Z for 4 months. It was an amazing feeling.
I just finished college in September, I was driving a Toyota Corolla that my parents gave me when my first car's engine ('00 Grand Am) **** the bed. I drove back and forth between my home and the dealership (hour and a half away) a few times to check out the car, test drive it (they had to replace the driver side window motor my first visit) and make a deposit. They lowballed the **** out of my on my trade in, so I sold the Corolla myself. That was cool I guess, first time selling a car. Then I had my mother drive me to the dealership, signed the paperwork and eventually got to drive it home. I was having a really shitty month from being overworked and stressed out at my job, it felt so good to finally get in this car. I was searching for the right Z since I graduated. What I got wasn't 100% what I wanted, but very close to. Smiled the entire hour and a half home.
My whole life I've always "played it safe", stayed out of trouble, "made the smart choice". Ditching my mechanically sound, fuel efficient and reliable Corolla that I wasn't making payments on for the Z I'm financing was probably the first "dumb" decision I did out of pure desire, but I haven't regretted it one bit. Absolutely love the car (aside from the god awful cup holder location!!!)
Completely stock photo from a few months ago. Haven't had the cash to get new wheels on it.

I have two stories! It all started with the true desire to buy a 350Z Nismo but at the time wasn't quite obtainable. It was a June day in 2012 and by that time I had decided that a Sentra Spec V would do that job since it only cost about $17,000 and i liked my wife's SR quite a bit (and still do). I went it to test drive it and just for laughs decided to look at the used inventory. Turns out they had a really nice 2007 Silver Touring for sale for less money than a new Sentra. The next day I bought it and was ecstatic to finally drive a car that is not considered any economy car.
About 6 months after purchasing it, i really found myself spending a lot of time researching the Nismo. It just seemed like such a better package than a normal 350Z but I wasn't sure. I ended up driving one locally and found it to be better in just about every way imaginable, and by that time knew that I would upgrade if I could ever find one in better condition and at a reasonable price.
Well, last week was the day and I purchased the Nismo from a fellow forum member. Drove it 8 hours back to my house and enjoyed the nonstop thumbs up I got from passing motorists. Really the car I've wanted for the last 5 years or so.

bb17 grats, got a pic or what color nismo did you get?
My first z was a silver 05 touring coupe back in 2010, and my boss at work got all interested in z's when he saw mine. The very next week he comes pulling up in a red nismo 07 I was like man you snake lol but he makes more $ than me so go figure. He doesn't know I'm getting an 08 roadster before summers over, cant wait to drop the top in front of him and say "can your fancy nismo do that bossman?" haha

This was a week ago, my fiancee and I had one car (my 06 Legacy) and she just got a new job which schedule and location conflicts with mine for carpooling. So we decided to get her a car.
She found a 09 VW jetta at our local carmax that she loved. We made an appointment and test drove it. She loved the exterior but it ended up driving like crap. So she moved on and found a 2012 Fiat 500 that she liked, low miles, drove great.
While she was inside filling out an app, I was outside looking through cars for fun. I came across a nice Altima coupe, then I turn around and there's an 04 Le Mans Sunset Z staring at me. I run up to it, notice it had the two things I prefer.. 6mt and black interior. Had to have it.
I run back inside to my fiancee and tell her what I found, she puts up a fight. Eventually she gets so mad (she doesn't see any point in driving fast cars) that she gives up and tells me to get what I want. An hour later I'm driving home in the Z and she's following me (or trying to) in her "new" Legacy. I felt bad, kind of.
I didn't have sex for three days.
Actually, the day she first rode in the Z with me was the night I finally got some again.
I should thank my Z.

Dec 2002 Christmas morning, our family's tradition is to open gifts. Normally this stats at approx 7:00am. My inlaws slept over, cousins from Tucson slept over, we are delayed waiting for my daughter and my granson and my older son. She gets here at 8:00 my son hasn't arrived. So Grandma decides to make breakfast for all, we eat, having a great time, my son arrives about 9:30, he eats and then we start opening gifts. Now there are 11 people so there's a lot of gifts, after a while I get handed a box, aaprox 12x24x2, and I'm thinking a shirt or two, open the box and there's the Goshen book on turning Nissan around and ........... A PAIR OF KEYS!!!!!!!!
Run outside and there sits a 2003 350z chrome silver track model.
I had been a member of a z club and had been telling her about the new z and how they had 3 cancellations in August. She contacted the dealership, bought it over the phone, abd stashed it at her office managers home for 3 months. After xmas eve dinner she made an excuse to go shopping, picked up my son, got the car, he drove it to his house and brought over xmas morning.
Best xmas ever. Still have the car and the wife, we just had our 43rd anniversary.
