When I had my Z32, there were 240Z guys who ragged on us nonstop, saying that the Z32 wasn't a "real" Z car. So maybe it is just a case of traditionalists gone overboard.

FWIW, the 350Z really gets to the root of the original Z...a pure sports car experience at a great value.

Sounds like he was just bitter over no longer having a Z.
(His girlfriend probably made him give it up...)

That's a classic logical fallacy called the intentional fallacy. His opinion of a real Z is only his own. But outside of his own head, he has no more or less right to decide what constitutes a real Z than any of us.

(I call it real as long as it doesn't *poof* into vapor when I slam the door.)

Default Glad mines not real

By this guys logic (the 350Z is not a real Z) I am GLAD mine is not a real Z. I think the 350 is bar far the best of the line. So if that makes it un-real then so be it.

I love my Z! It's UNREAL.

Reminds me of people who hate any NEW albumn by a group if they try anything new.

When Metallica evolved some of the old fans branded them sell outs. When Rush did that, same thing.

It boils down to "I want what I am used to, not something different."

None by itself. I'll get some for you when I have time though. Tell your friend I just got mine back from having the suspension upgraded with Eibach springs & Tokico struts. Man what a difference! worth the 500 bucks easy.
