Jesus that was spectacular! Thank you so much. Also, the tracks around here don't have any walls, curbs, poles, etc. an there's no way in HELL will I be drifting on the street. Thank you!
Also on wheel size, I've seen a 350 pull a 20" vossen deep concave rims. Absolutely love the look of it. Just that vossens are $$$$$$$

I have 19x9.5 +17 Front and 19x10.5 +18 Rear.
My tires are 255/35/19 Front and 275 or 285/35/19 rear
Ask me again why I don't drift! 19s are expensive. I have Volk GTS which are light for what they are, but not light by any means. Now the Z(I have an HR too btw) has no problem getting sideways even going straight with a lil clutch kick with the 19s, but if I got more serious about tracking/drifting I would for sure go with some 18s. tires are cheaper and 18s have less "mass" to move so you're getting more "power down to the ground with less rotating mass.
20s look good on a 370, and in RARE cases 350Zs in my opinion. Vossen does make some good looking wheels, but have been questioned a time or two about integrity. I have no comment since I have no experience with them, but If you want bang for buck, look into Enkei RPF1. Very light, very strong.
I have also had Varrstoen(popular replica wheel maker) and loved the look, but could tell they were on the heavier side.
Try to stick to function over form, you will save more money that way.
My Z is a "show car that has been tracked" I hate a dirty car, but love the rush of the track.
best of luck
oh yea, here's my obligatory n00b flame post
Try searching n00b!
Hope this helps.

First 2 pics during the day the guy spun his new Hyundai genesis 3.8 out and slammed between where track and dirt meet completely snapped off his tire, a lot of the suspension components, wheel bearings, and got all the airbags to deploy (the white object in the passenger side is an airbag)
Second 2 pics the guys right tire hit the candy cane he steered wrong, and he flipped (no cage). he walked away and the car didnt.
Basically reinforce suspension before any power mods and be prepared to break them and replace them yourself. And learn to replace your own clutch, saved me $1000 doing it myself

The Z in stock form with stock height tires has 4.1 inches of ground clearance. Most drifters will run a 245/40-18 front and rear NA, lowering the rear by roughly 1/2 inch. Now you are at 3.6 inches. I would re-eval what you know. Also for drifting you still want to need suspension travel, I would drop no more than 2 inches total. There is a big difference between drifting and sliding out if control.

4.1 inches, and it is at the Y pipe behind the front axle. When you lower the rear, you will lose more of that clearance.

@noquestionz I hear ya on that. I've been reconsidering a 240sx for drifting. Cheaper to buy/mod/maintain/fix and still look sexy.
@350z project: suspension has always been first priority for me. Also, this track is nice to cars running off it. I've been there for drift events and sen many take the dirt, turn around, and make the next run without pitting (he pitted for tires only)

EDIT:
Also, keep in mind that our discussion here is completely seperate from my original question. Had someone not made wheels a specific side discussion in here, I'd most definitely be searching. But I already knew I would do 18's for performance. Now that all that's been said, your post did help! Thanks!

I don't want an s13. I want a 350z. If I do a 240, itl have to be a kouki s14. The other problem is, i don't want someone's "project" they didn't finish. I've heard too many horror stories of people buying project cars and are complete ****. If I build my car myself from ground zero, I know exactly what's in my car. Ya know?

Do you have a DD?
If you're seriously going to get into drifting there is a lot of unlisted costs that people don't realize... drift spares/tires, track fees, safety equipment (harness, helmet, roll cage, etc.) and the sheer fact that no matter how strong your drivetrain is it will break eventually (and sometimes surprisingly often) so it's not smart to have a DD that you drift regularly.
Just my .02

So! I have gotten some new experiences lately to change my plans a bit. This weekend I went to a drift event that was an open fun day for anyone. I got a ride along in a 350z, a BMW, an ls7 240sx (Nate hamiltons of formula d), and an sr20det s14. My favorite ride was Nate hamiltons by FAR! today as well, I got a chance to drive a 350z for over an hour from a different dealership to my own. It was the 2004, lsd, exhaust, coilovers, wheels, tires. And that was a freakin blast. So I've decided that if I purchase a 350z, I want all the traction I can get. If I decide to try my hand at drifting, I'll do what everyone should do, start in a dirt cheap 240.
