I don't have a car to drive up to the dealership and I haven't established solid friendships in the year that I have been here for someone to drive me there and help with examining the car. i could probably take a bus...

I'm not a fan of the kit or automatic trans (trust me, if you are 50 50 on this get the manual, so much more fun) but the car does have some nice mods (brembo bbk = $4k, volk GTS wheels = $3k). I'm surprised the guy who traded it in got what he wanted for it. In any matter, good luck.

Still in midst of driving classes but thats a technicality I can work around, thanks for the find nonetheless. So should I be worried about handling a powerful car? All my knowledge about the Z is theoretical as of now but I know I will love it.

2003-2005 will be a lot cheaper. I would stay away from 2006 as it has the rev-up engine which could have oil consumption.
the 2007-2008 has the better "HR" engine which all in all is better. In regards to being modified well it's up to you, I would stick with one that is stock. It may look as though it's all cosmetic and it could be but when you buy modded you generally buy other peoples problems. Mods don't add value unless it's something like a turbo.

Z's are not that rare in the St Louis area. I lived there for most of my life and just moved to Republic about a year ago. There are a couple Z clubs in St Louis that you might try asking about Z's

On a side note I was looking for the body kit on the Z i posted in my original post and it appears to be a Veilside V3 kit costing 3k and some change.. so with that and the brembos and the Volk wheels thats like a lot in appearance mods, not counting bodyshop costs to fit everything...

Correction, I did not mean to bundle Brembos into appearance mods. off to bed for now will check back later, more opinions on the Z linked in my original post would be great as well, factoring all that has gone into the car is making my head hurt in terms of risk vs benefit. Don't get me wrong I do like the stock look as well but I am a appearance modder at heart..read ricer to some.

I purchase my 05 Z 6 Speed at 26 yrs old, and I just turned 27. Do your self a favor and do your hw before buying a car.
Definitely get a test drive, and get it mechanical inspected if you can. I research over 15+ Z in the span of 2 months until i found a stock 6 speed from an owner who used it as his weekend warrior. Stock, low miles, maintain to perfection.
I had one of my buddies who is a mechanic go with me while car hunting finding little things dealerships or private owners failed to mention when showing me the car. Definitely payed off.
Sure you will like the body kit and such, but i'm definitely sure you will be able to find a better deal than the one you see on that Nissan dealership website.
