I'm zoning into that "its just a few more thousand dollars" phase. It has literally everything on it navi, back up cam, paddle shifters, same engine as 370z, new engine with literally no miles on it for less than what a 370z would cost... So getting caught up into temptation land.

i have 12 now but will have 16 laying around come August 2nd. I wonder how much I should save for tax, title etc and food and gas
*edit* Also do you know how the financing system works? do I just take the VIN and go to a credit union? Last I checked my credit score was in 700s.

So do you reckon the G37 is a good deal with the stuff it has on it? Or should I aim for something better if thats possible in that price range and yes 20k is the top of my budget if something is super awesome.

I honestly wouldn't get one for you're first car knowing how winters are in Missouri, you'll either get nowhere or you'll crash it trying to get somewhere with your limited driving experience. It don't take anything at all to kick the back end of these cars out, especially on snow/ice.
Don't think that I'm just trying to be harsh on you OP, I'm just trying to save you a potentially dangerous 15-20k mistake.
If it were me, I would get a rwd beater and see if you feel comfortable driving that in the wintertime. If you aren't, imagine something with 2 or 3 times more hp and trying to maneuver that through the same conditions. The decision is ultimately up to you but I couldn't imagine trying to drive my Z around in the winter time, which is why I also have another car.

I, too, am not a fan of the body kit nor the wing, but that is just me. I am suspicious of that price, it seems really low.
Check out Gateway Z Club and St. Louis Z Club on their sites and on Facebook. Maybe someone there can be of help to you.
Good Luck!!

Firstly thank you for all the replies, I see a very strong community here. You have me convinced to go for a stock Z. Although I really like the Veilside kit :P My brother has the same sentiments and wants me to go for a M/T, said why bother with A/T if it only takes a week to learn manual. I have applied for a week's vacation in August so I should be able to go look at cars and test drive if they allow me to on a driving permit. I just need to shortlist cars for viewing now. As much as I find the Vaginal Shift System funny, I must admit i'm daunted by M/T. Stalling would kill me from embarrassment more than anything else.
And make sure for financing you look at all available options. Credit unions are a good place to start. I financed 11,000 at 3.4% with limited credit history by myself on a 2003. If your credit history is even remotely decent which it should be by 27, you should be able to get nearly zero interest on an 07 or newer.

Its been a while of looking around and I came up with this. Its fairly local (adjacent state), cheap for the model year i suppose, almost stock.

I know its on craigslist, but besides that, what are your opinions? I have to kinda get a car in the next 2 weeks and I have been looking since a while. Don't let that affect your opinion and can we forget that it has A/T or VSS.
