What am I missing? It looks like a Type E with wings, and it's clearly discussed that Type E is ugly.
And as JetPilot718 put it, "where the extra $35K went on that car??"

I recon you are right.
My Chinese friend at work, Likes a Lexus 430
I said he could buy two 350Z and drive one and have the other getting new tires.
Ha !
Cheers Amy -
Won't sell in China
They have laws about too fast tire wear.
Un-like the USA

First, the base model of GT is Version S. The car is sold for 3.3 million JPYen here.
The S-tune for Nismo is available for all Fairlady Z (Z33) for approx 1 million yen. This mod is done hand crafted and fine tuned by selected Nismo crew (not just "putting on" the kits).
Furthermore the GTs got the full Nismo suspension kits, four Nismo 19 inchers plus Brigestone S-03, full GT aero kits (not just the F&R bumpers), rear wing, Alcantara bucket seats, 300 km gauges, nismo badges, etc.
All of these items cost way over 1.5 million yen, I'd say. Don't forget the installation costs of all these parts.
And of course all of these comes with the Nissan warranty.
The car is sold for 6.5 million yen here.
Yeah I think the price is horrendous for a Z car, but not a rip off.
The Type E without all of these Nismo mods, is a rip off, though.

That Carbon Fiber Plenum is pretty spiffy. Should be less heat soak then the OEM aluminum plenum right?
I wonder if there is any HP gains on that thing... I would buy it if they sold it here together with that Carbon Fiber Engine Cover.

I saw that engine displayed at the Tokyo Auto Salon. I don't think the plenum is carbon fiber, I forgot what type of material it was.
