Say hey to the Z35

One of Japan's most iconic cars is making a comeback. A descendant of the game-changing 240Z that debuted in 1969, an all-new Z car (code-named Z35) will honor the legendary Datsun with a stylized 21st-century interpretation of the original's long nose, short deck, and perfect proportions.
I hate these stupid mockups because the cars never look like that.
As for the 4-cyl, I'll pass. It will probably sound like one of those nasty Evos or STis. Give me the throaty V6 with a turbo any day.
Less than impressed.
At least the numbers look good. ~300 horses and a weight reduction will be welcome.

I really feel like if they change it to a four cylinder turbo a lot of people will switch platforms or look for 370s for the v-6 powerplant. I dont think a I-4 turbo powerplant will be competitive against other cars that have v-6s with modding and tuning
That rendering looks similar to the Camaro.
If I wanted a fuel efficient car, I'd buy a Mini. Glad to see they are considering keeping the V6; though they'll probably make it severly underpowered so people will choose the I4.
Nissan feels that it has to "wean" the motoring public off the six cylinder, which has been its mainstay powerplant since the very beginning, and switch to a more fuel-efficient four.

as long as it comes out with a long hood, sharp nose to chin cut, and a stuffed rear look Ill be happy. I forecast the 4 cyl being the flop and more going with the 6.
It's funny with the power of the internet nowadays being able to see just how finicky masses of people can be to change.
lol

Z33 was $30k and Z34 was $40k. If Nissan puts the VR38DETT transplant in this new Z35, I would buy it in a heart beat even if the price is start out at $60K. No need to do any detune to pass the emission testing, because the VR38DETT is carb and emission compliant. Or waste millions of millions dollars to design a new engine for the Z35. That way, Nissan can save a whole lot of money to keep the new Z35 cost down.
Ugh gay. If they make a 4 banger Z i'll be pi$$ed. IDGAF if its 2800lbs with 330hp. Z's are traditionally six cylinders. If nissan wants to move away from real motors they should ressurect the 240, no need to slander the Z.
You wouldnt make a V6 bimmer
You wouldnt make a FWD porsche

Aren't most or all current bimmers inline 6? Maybe the poster above is saying you wouldn't see a v6 since bmws come with inline 6? Just taking a guess lol I'm probably wrong about bmws not coming in v6 form, but I remember when searching for my old 325, all 6 cylinder bmws I looked at were inline 6
