Umm.. don't forget about AWD drivetrain loss.

STI w/ intake & exhaust

Compare that to my dyno #'s.

Answer: The STI is faster due to AWD launch. Trap speeds aren't all that impressive. From a roll, equal drivers, about even 5-100+ with the Z at stock boost.

Of course, turn that **** a bit and woooah ... miracles of turbo setups.

Nissan did a poor job of putting one out with the same specs that a McDonalds manager could afford (hence the multi generation). I see at least 3 Z coupes a day. It's sick... Reminds me of the new body mustangs, everyone has one.

I've only seen 3 other STis on the road... EVER. It's not faster than yours issue... more unique.

PS... I'm hooked on Z now... (anti-flame suit on)
But doesn't the STI have the exact same body as the WRX and Imprezas, making a $35,000 optioned-up STI nearly indistinguishable from some grandmother's stripper $19,000 Impreza?

Different cars for different mentality people.. doesnt mean one is better than the other, just different. There are plenty of Z's that will get ROMPED.. and plenty of Z's that WILL romp on others, just have fun and respect nicely fixed up vehicles for what they are.

(Even though IMO the lancer and WRX are ugly ugly cars) ...

Put me in a Z now and I'll take my odds. Or wait until spring, and I'll do it with my own Z I was being sarcastic about me driving, but I've got plenty o' seat time in the 350Z, (and exponentially more in the previous gen Z's), and some in the STi. I'm confident in the Z and in myself, and from my experience, stock for stock, I'd pick the Z for handling. That is all.

hey all Im hupps buddy, let me tell you that STI is no joke.!
he said it right when he said Car lengths on the Z.

sure the doors are light and you may not like the style.... but thats the best thing about cars, one fits every person!

I would take the STI over any car you threw at me, and its because of the unigue style, and feel of the AWD turbo beast.

But the Z is a killer ride also

I don't care how fast that car is, it still won't be fast enough to catch up with all the girls... who will be running away... because that car is so *** **** ugly.

Throw a turbo into any Z and you'll be outpacing that car easily.

Im sure that car rides nice, but like you guys said, no 18 year old can afford a 38k car, but for that sort of cash id rather have a G35c or a track Z, then a Subaru... just my personal prefrence, id like to take one out for a spin someday, Cedusett was sorta right, I couldn't bring myself to drive that car, at 21+ im looking for a more lux and less speed, and rice factor... but thats just me

You know, it kinda sux, I spent all my teenage years and some of my early twenties lusting after an STi....loved WRC...but it wasn't available and I couldn't have afforded one at the time. I used to own a 2.5RS, and that was a great car, but by the time I sold it, I was damn near embarassed to drive it. Now the STi is here, and I could finally afford one, and my tastes have matured such that I can't stomach the STi's looks.

OMG!! That's so wrong but so funny!

The stereotype is sort of true though. None of my female friends are fond of the WRX's looks. They frown when we point them out.

But looks aren't everything and neither is speed. The STi is still a nice little piece of machinery.

Um, why finance a POS radio that you are going to replace anyway? I put a $1000 into the stereo in my STi. Guess what that netted me... MB Quart Q Series all around (6 speakers), a Kenwood Excelon head unit, and a PPI 480 amp.

Take a guess at what that Blows system in the Z costs you. I guarantee it's not free with purchase of the car... and I'll even let you venture a guess on which system sounds better.

The STi really reminds me of the old Ford Escorts... I guess you could put a bus engine in one of those and it'd be fast too. I still wouldn't drive the ugly *ss piece of sh*t.
