Yeah, I wouldn't be fooled by this one. I drive an 03, but have been very meticulous about my records of maintenance and modifications. I have a folder that's about 3 inches thick full of records and Z1 receipts.

The headlights on that are cheap, so don't let that fool you. drilled/slotted rotors are whatever considering they're base brakes that likely have old fluid and rubber lines still installed. No tranny flushes either? No go. Mine has a brand new CD009, clutch, flywheel, fluid, ss clutch line.

Tracking down an older model will be easy, but try to track one down that's got a great history like mine.

Your best bet in this case will probably be an HR

He said he did some digging and in March 2012, he had a check engine light come on and had it checked out. He ended up having "the left and right fuel pressure regulator dampers and fuel hose replaced along with the rear engine camshaft position sensor replaced".

I'm still not rushing into anything. It's just that this particular vehicle has everything I'm looking for in a Z besides the higher mileage. Let's say he takes $10K or 10.5K for it. Would you guys think the potential repairs/upgrades needed be worth it? I plan on driving it a bit; it won't be just a casual weekend driver for me.

I'm keeping my options open. I took your advice and expanded my search. There is a Z not too far from here that is pretty similar (04' Enthusiast w/ 65.7K on it) for $13.5K. Link below:

Thanks so much again for all your help/advice, everyone. It is most appreciated.

Be patient young padowan.

You sound like you are itching to pull the trigger. As has been mentioned, used Z's are PLENTIFUL (it's not like trying to find a clean unmolested Supra or MR2 Turbo).

Looking is half the fun.

A padawan reference? You must know what I make in my shop in my spare time

Yes, I'm eager, but I'm not stupid. As much as I want to believe this guy, I won't. This guy says he's put 9K miles on it in three years. When I bought my used 07' Silverado w/ 43K miles on it, first thing I did was a tranny flush and oil change to be safe. I would never buy a used vehicle with 86K miles on it without doing a tranny flush if I actually cared. So....this guys strikes me as....odd.

Keeping my eyes open and I'll keep you all updated.

Being the original owner of an 03 with 95k miles. I've also driven HRs and G35s and here's mho. If you can afford a little more than 13k, then save up and try to get an HR. If I had a choice for sure the HRs are a step better than DEs. However if you are able to find a DE for ~9k then I wouldn't hesitate too much. 9k for a well maintained DE is well worth the money.

Mileage to me doesn't tell the whole story expect for a bargaining point during a sell or buy. A responsible owner can keep a Z car for 200k + without that much problems.

Tire Feathering can happen to most Z's of any year. The problem was remedied with proper tires. The OEM tires from 03-04s were not setup well for the suspension and caused featuring. I had it on the first set of tires, and since then I've been feather free.

Window Motors are also a pain. If you are getting a DE then make sure that both window motors have been replaced with the new part. I had my OE window motors go at around 50k and it wasn't covered by warranty. I believe the new motors have been redesigned and will not break so quickly.

Transmission "FLUSH" is not supposed to be done on a MT. However a transmission fluid change should have been done at around 30k miles and about 60k for the differential. Make sure these fluid changes have been done on a regular interval.

Thanks Homie. I'm still on the hunt. Found one that was just listed; 07' Enthusiast with 60K miles @ $17.3. Please excuse my limited knowledge, but this year has the HR, correct?

There was a HR listed locally- always check carfax. This one looks clean and amazing - but had two prior accidents. Stay away with anything more than 1.

Most cars have been in some sort of minor fender bender lol but you dont want one that had something like frame damage or front end impact.

Bought my 03 z with 95k miles as well what are the odds lol. I paid 8800 for mine, exterior was spotless no scratches or dents, interior had minor cracks in leather, tein lowering springs, toe bolts, cold air intake, and invidia exhaust. Had it for about 20k miles now and no motor problems whatsoever.

Thanks for your feedback, man. Turns out the one in my original post is no longer listed. Maybe it wasn't meant to be

I'm still on the lookout though.
