Default speeding ticket

so i got pulled over a while back by a moto cop for going 79 in a 50 zone. should i be offended cause i was actually going 87? i want to go contest the ticket so i dont have to pay but what are the chances of him showing to court. im in chula vista, san diego county. if i do show up and contest you think he will pull my actual speed on me? the ticket is $240 it will be my first point and i cant go to traffic school cause of a previous ticket.

You should be ashamed. In GA, 87mph will get you a super-speeder infraction with horrendous penalties. I hope they sock it to ya, clean your clock, bust your chops, and eat your lunch.

If you do plan to fight it, make sure to push the date back as many times as you can. The more you do this the less likely the cop is to show up

I've tried it once when I was younger. Didn't work out too well for me. He showed up then he was explaining how fast I really was going while I'm standing up there looking like a fool. And yes, I was a fool back then. In the end it actually cost me more money because of the afternoon I took off from work.

If you show up and don't contest it you might get a lesser offense, no guarantees.

Plea not guilty, ask for a reduction. If your license is clean they will most likely reduce it to a non speeding or if your lucky, a non moving violation plus a fine, or you can "man up" and eat the points/fine. Id recommend the former. Good luck

Also, if they didn't use radar to trap your speed, I believe the evidence is inadmissible? Could be wrong but take it for what it is.

do you know the bike cop's name? Was it by any chance on the 94 near Spring Valley? It's a long shot, but it might be the same guy who got me.

Pay it and move on. You got caught at a lesser speed so be grateful.

'Fess up to how fast you were really going, and throw yourself on the mercy of the court.

This is what is wrong with the newer generations.

There is a complete lack of responsibility for their actions.

Get pulled over for breaking the law and what is the first thing you do? Look for a way to weasel out of accountability.

Pathetic.
