I am new to these boards, but I have always loved the Z's. I already paid down on an Acura TSX, because of all the amenities you get for the price and people telling me how it is alot more practical. But even though I paid down on the TSX, I still want my damn 350. Is the Z definitely worth getting, or am I buying more problems. What is the actual cost of owning a Z. How often will I be making trips back to the dealer to fix it.

 

It's a Nissan. How many Nissans are still on the road from the 70s... proabably all of them. You won't have any problems unless you get that mod bug... then your chances raise to "might have".

 

"to Z or not to Z", isnt the question thats an easy one... "to mod or not to mod" is the real question... most of the first year probs are fixed in the 04's, get the Z you wont be dissapointed. practical shmactical, you only live once, thats what i said to myself.

 

I guess the follow up question becomes .... Do I get an '04 or go wait for the '05.

 

no big changes to wait for an 05, and the dealers finally have 04s in stock and on the lot. you could get a great deal on an 03 if price is a big issue

 

But you get that stupid nav door

 

If you have the "fire" its worth getting.

I've had my Z 13 months; its only trips to a mechanic are to have the oil changed. Like most japanese cars the reliability is quite high...though certainly not perfect.

Cost of ownership is no more/less than other cars with one possible exception: insurance because its a sportrs car. Check with your agent.
