Default Removing Rear Strut Brace?

I want to go get a big 55" tv this black Friday but I don't think its gonna fit in the trunk. Is there anyway to remove that big useless arch thing in the back?

You mean this thing? It's pretty much part of the body.

Yes, there is a way to remove it, but you probably don't want to do it.

It'll be a lot harder to put it back in than it is to remove it.

Obviously you don't know much about suspensions, body stiffness etc.
You may want to research WHY that rear strut was put in the car in the first place.

you should be able to place it on it's side and keep the hatch open

some tie downs and you should make it home

Seriously??? You bought a sports car and complain its not got space for your groceries and big screen? Borrow a truck or sell your car and get something bigger. Removing safety and chassis bracing so you can move a TV is ridiculous.

Use a reciprocating saw and a grinder. Should come out fairly easy.

Don't worry about reinforcing the body. It doesn't need it.

Then just get some black duct tape and cover up the hole left in the plastic to smooth it out. Nobody will know you did anything there.

One thing you can count on is this:

If the bean-counters at Nissan let the engineers put it there, it's REALLY important for it to be there.

i HATE that strut bar. piece of crap design flaw location. The 370z addressed this by moving it up forward. On the 350z, it's right in the ****ing middle. I don't use the space in between the bar and the seats because it's hard to put things up there. But yes, you need it. It might fit in the passenger seat, it's a lot more roomy in the cabin then you would think. Brought home my exhaust in the passenger seat.
