Should I trade in my 350Z Roadster?

What’s wrong with you people! A 350/370Z is an awesome car, but so is a high spec 08 Corvette. OP have fun with your new toy, but don’t forget to check in with your old friends here once in a while.
Things for me to do: (send memo to RMichael et al to stop being such jerks)
Also, Winchman I did research the new Georgia sale tax changes and the trade in value is deducted from the taxable amount of the new car. This along with the new provision to charge tax on private used car sales, means you would need to get a lot more money selling privately to mach the tax advantage of trading in.

An 08 for an 08? Yes the vette is faster in every aspect. More fun? I dunno. I'd never sell an 08 to buy an 08, Ferrari or otherwise. Maybe a Ferrari but doubt it. It means you want a faster, "bling" car but can't afford a BETTER car. Nothing to be ashamed of. I want a c7 or 997 ain't gonna happen. Save for two years, sell the z and buy a c7.

OP, no matter what you do some miserable smart *** is going to say you did wrong. Some people just can't accept that not everyone is exactly like their miserable selves. If you want an Automatic, buy it . If you want a Vette, buy it. This is the worst site i've seen if you're looking for an unbiased opinion. I've got a 6mt but dont mind Automatics as long as they have at leat 5 gears and a manumatic option to hold gears for hard cornering. I admit, when I was 20 I used to preach the whole Auto sucks thingy. Then I started hanging out at drag strips.

Thanks folks for your comments. I am a middle aged woman who learned her lesson about manual daily drivers in the big city. Bought a new 06 corvette manual. A blast to drive until the school kids started back and traffic increased dramatically. Then my knee started killing me everyday in stop and go traffic. Ever since, I buy automatics with manual shifters. Never regretted it. As to my current situation, I've decided to take the trade in. No drama trying to sell on my own. I love both cars. Each has pluses and minuses. I may never settle down and you'll see me back here again when I trade in the vette for a Z. You just never know. Best wishes to all!

Thought this was funny about a lot of old guys getting Corvettes. Op be different, get a Maserati or an Aston Martin. You only live once right? Splurge like a boss.

It's true.
Vette's are "old man" cars.
I didn't realize until I bought a new ZO6. I noticed immediately that corvette owners are very friendly folks, always waving at another corvette owner (kind of like motorcyclists do to each other - except for the dicks on harleys that is - who would never stoop to waving at someone riding a crotch-rocket)
But the other thing I noticed is that the other corvette owners waving at me were all like 20-30 years older than me.
Got rid of that car after just a couple of years.
My theory is that they are the car every red-blooded american kid wants from the time they are a kid, but can't afford them until they are empty nesters with some extra disposeable income and room for a 2-seater.

EVERY american kid grows up wanting a corvette lol! Just that most can't afford to blow those kind of dollars on a 2 seater until their kids finish college.....
But seriously dude, start paying attention to the drivers of every vette you see, and you will see a pattern. I would say 80% plus of the drivers look like they live in Sun City.........
Also, at least the vette's of the last few years have really upped the ante, especially in terms of the interior. My 2001 Z06 had an interior right out of a fricking chevy cavalier. Plastics looked like the same stuff they make 99 cent toys out of at the .99 cent only store
I've been planning on going to the dealership and wasting the salesman's time with a test drive on one of the new ones.....

We had an '08 C6 when it came out, in the end, we kept the Z and sold the Vette. Never regretted it, the sound is just overbearing. We are not fond of the sound of metal hitting metal. I recently drove the Z with my windows partially down, I felt joy and peace hearing the noise. You should do what makes you happy, damn my car is almost 10 years of owning it.
