Default Tell Me Im Wrong

This is my 1st post. Ive been hangin around on the forums lookin for info on the Z since it will be my next car. I priced some online and unless im just an idiot it looks like the leather option is only available with the touring model...That seems kinda stupid to me so can someone please tell me im wrong.

Only on the touring. You can install aftermarket leather covers though. I've heard that the 350z leather seats wear down rather quickly, but I don't really know since I don't have them.

You're not wrong, and I can't say for sure if you are an idiot or not. (I hope you are not) The Touring is considered the luxury model and therefore is the only model that has the leather (and heated) seats. It is also the only model with the Bose stereo. I have seen some threads here in which leather seat covers have been added, however without the heat. Many people don't want the leather and also want to add their own wiz-bang sound system, so the touring is not for everybody. It is for me however, since I am basically lazy and want my car pre-made with everything on it. You can't go wrong with the Z. I had one a for 10 years and it was the best car I ever owned. Good luck!!

Default Sadly true

Sadly it is true. The Touring model is like picking up girls in a bar. If you want the hot/sexy heated leather seats with side air bags you got a find a date for the far & ugly Bose stereo.

You can always re-cover seats from a lower model in leather and it will look fine. I wanted the side air bags and the heated seats so I got the touring. I will be ripping out most of the Bose stuff soon.

I have an '03 Touring model and to date the leather seats have been excellent. If you want power/heated seats then the Touring model is the way to go. The Touring model with a 6mt also gives you the added benefits of the performance package ie: 18" wheels.

Hey, St. Louis, these people are correct. I went with the Touring model, and I really enjoy it. Heated and leather is nice, plus I like the in dash 6CD changer, BOSE system. I'm not a big audiophile, but it sounds great to me considering my other vehiilce is a 91 toy corrola with factory stereo and two blown speakers.

Thanks for all the replies..Im in my early 20s so id rather go for more of a custom look than luxury. So what ill probably end up doing is getting the performance model and spending the extra money saved on aftermarket stuff. BTW how good is the quality of the cloth? Or does anyone know the price of getting your interior re-done in leather?

z33 concept, have you gotten any custom work done on any cars youve owned in the st louis area? It seems like there are no shops here that do reputable custom work.

why would you want leather in a sports car?? it adds weight, its slippery, gets really cold or hot depending on the weather. save your money and add some sparco, recaro, or bride racing seats.
