hello z lovers...........i am new 2 this website and very xxx-cited about my new z that is coming out................i have sooooo many things that i will do to this amazing machine..............the first thing that i will have 2 do is have some 1 put in a sunroof for me...........does ne 1 no why nissan didnt include this in there options?.............thanks..............
I agree the car is too small for a sunroof. BUT I am wondering why Nissan didn't offer T-Tops. I certainly am no expert, but it was my understanding that T-Tops will provide the rigidity (if that's a word) that a sports car needs. Assuming I'm right on this, anyone have any idea whether putting T-Tops on the Z would f&*( up the car?
T-tops don't really provide structural support the way a solid roof would. However, since Nissan is making a convertable version, you'd think they have that problem covered...
I've heard of Camaros at the track literally ejecting their t-tops from chassis twist / torque, and without em in all that is there is the little mid-bar or whatever it's called.

I'll take mine with a fixed roof.

a targa top would nice. I would like to see a 911 style targa roof. Where the whole roof slides down to the rear window.
The only problem is that the roof line of the 350 is very short. So i don't know if this would be possible.

As I was driving my '71 Z yesterday (which I rarely do now) I began thinking about the antenna, T-top and 2+2 versions that came out with the ZX models. Many feel, as I do, that Nissan took a hard left turn away from the real idea of the Z when they went with the ZX. It was a luxury car masquerading as a sports car. As I drove my '71, I could see what Nissan is trying to get back to, giving us the fixed antenna, fixed roof, and limited luxury items that really don't belong in a car that was designed to be fun to drive with a ****-pit interior.
I guess that my point is that after driving a 240Z, my misaligned expectations where corrected. The Z was not a T-top, leather equipped, four-seater. It was a car whose focal point was the driving experience, with very little fluff.
Driving my 240Z, with it original AM, two-speaker radio is an experience in acceleration and cornering. I am now hoping that the 350Z lives up to the 240Z and I think that that is what Nissan is shooting for.
I'm hooked on my 240Z (like many others from 240~280Z) because of they way it feels to drive, not race, not even drive fast and I'm hooked.
Sorry to be so long winded, but I trying to articulate "Z passion" and I've definitely have it.

I agree, after driving a Maxima (which I really like) for the past 3 years, I want a sports car (a sporting car?), no side airbags, no sunroof, etc. I would like it to be a little lighter, but I can work with it. Plus, they are coming out with a convertable for those who would like it (not me).
