Ca to Az isnt even that far, you will be fine as long as your car is road worthy, god tires, brakes, oil ,etc..
It should be a great ride through the mts then desert.

Enjoy it, I have driven from the Gulf of Mexico to Ct non stop 1600 miles, and from Ct to Chicago non stop a couple times, etc.. like I said, make sure the car is road worthy and have a great trip.
Lump

As far as routes go it depends where you will be starting out in Ca.
San fran or central and northern ca or southern ca ?

Depends on where you're starting. Both 8 and 10 go from CA to AZ. I-10 runs directly through Phoenix; I-8 doesn't.

I love this car for road trips. Probably the most comfortable car I've ever driven long distances.

Good luck and have fun!

It depends where you had your car tuned prior. Elevation in ca is near sea level in some cities and az is around 4100 feet above sea level in some cities. Higher you go the less air. So you might run lean. Also depends how conservative your tune is.

[QUOTE
Yeah, I hear it's no problem at those speeds (if not more) out in the desert. gf and her brother did a record trip from CA to AZ in about 3.5hrs. Of course they were going about 100mph[QUOTE]

what part of cali are you departing from? and what part of az are you going to? being from LA i take the 10 straight for 4.5 hrs all the way to the 60 1.5hrs passed Phoenix.
like everyone else said just check fluids and tire pressure and as long as u dont have any issues with the car ull be fine. good time to put injector cleaner if thats ok with the tune (im not at that level lol)

^good point about running a good injector cleaner (like Lucas, etc., a good one) on a long cruise since you haven't really done that with the car before, it may help douche it out some.

I do the Phx to San Diego trip fairly often. The mountains on the way out of SD on the I-8 are a lot of fun, and there's a road nicknamed "Dead cow highway"(route 238) that goes from Gila Bend to Maricopa that's pretty fun to drive. The rest of the I-8 is boring as **** and there's border patrol stops that may be a problem if your car is low cuz they have metal "speed bump" things that cover their power lines that I always bottom out on. I've only taken the I-10 once and all i remember is taking some crazy road in Cali through an Indian Rez that was all mountainous and it was awesome. But I also got several photo enforcement tickets cuz I was racing a viper in my dads car....

Car was tuned in hawaii. I just spoke with Shawn Church today.... said I'd be able to tune through him as he's had prior living and tuning experience in AZ (he used to live there) so he said he can compensate for the difference in elevation and the heat.

At this point, I'll be coming from Church Automotive so I believe that's in the LA area? Other than that, I'm having maintenance done out here in HI. She should be ready for the road as soon as we get there!
