Update from the oldest 350Z owner on the forum. The car continues to be a joy to drive. Perks me up every time I get into it. Still getting compliments from people who admire the car. Had a 370Z owner tell me he liked the looks of the car more than his.
85,500 miles on my 06. One repair this year. Had to replace air pressure sensor in driver's side front tire. Made the mistake of going to a stealership and got soaked $330 for the job. Aside from that the car has been running perfectly.
Still making once a week trip to that small school district 45 miles north of Tucson to do counseling with elementary and high school age kids.
Longest trip this year was 120 mile trip to Scottsdale to view the cars ready for the Barrett Jackson auction in January.
November before last a friend and I drove the Z to LA to see the LA Auto Show. Last November we decided to avoid the traffic by flying into LA at 9 am and coming back to Tucson at 6 pm the same day. Taking into account the cost of gas, hotels, wear and tear on the car, etc., that we avoided the air flight wasn't that expensive. Will probably do it again the coming November.
My health is still good. One sad event. My sister and I had to place our 102 year old mother in a nursing home because her dementia had progressed to the point where she could needed round the clock care.
Still consider buying the Z one of the best things I've done, second to marrying my lovely 80 year old wife 47 years ago and then having 2 daughters.

Got hooked into the dealer by a misinformed auto mechanic who told me the problem was not in the sensors but the main computer and couldn't be fixed by a regular shop. I found out otherwise and was burned in the process.

Glad my mother is still around too but dementia is a disabling condition that robs you of your personal self and dignity. Not nice to watch happen and sometimes I feel it would have been better if she had died at an earlier age.
