To Mod or Not To Mod is the question.
I guess if you don't modify it and let it go at some point, some ricer kid will pick up a stock Z that was never molested and turn it into this:

You need to modify it now and do it right before this is it's future.

What mods are you thinking about? Many of us bought an '03 and spent $1000+ on bolt ons that got us maybe 10 HP total, lol. It was the thing to do. Others went FI right away and blew 2 or 3 motors because no one knew the first thing about tuning them. Stick with handling mods - sways, springs, shocks, etc. A clean stock look is pretty rare these days.
Some mods are more easily undone than others.. I would say to the few you mentioned -
1. Don't bother with headers. Unless you are doing it for bragging rights or are really looking for some specific sound alteration in the exhaust note. Too much effort for little HP gains.
2. true dual exhaust - sure, why not.
3. beefed up tires. Not sure what you mean here, but you will need new tires.. eventually.
I can appreciate the desire to keep it mint/OEM. Some days I wish that mine was still stock too (but not all days).
