Default toronto -- got my VIN -- Redline in showroom 4 sale

Just talked to my salesperson at Alta Nissan (Woodbridge) who gave me my VIN! The car is an August production and is status "at sea". I expect to get it by the end of September. I can't wait any longer!

BTW, there is a Redline Performance Automatic + Nav available at Alta Nissan (Woodbridge), priced at MSRP + Nav option.

Good news for you. From what I know, here in Canada, dealers do NOT get their VIN's until after the car has gotten off the boat and into port here in Vancouver. That would mean that your car's off the boat and might even be in transport!

Congrats!

Thanks for your words of encouragement. According to my salesperson, the dealers get the VINs once the cars leave the factory, but I like your take on it even better! I personally agree with you on that, since I was told the same when I purchased my bike.

Do you happen to know how long it takes for the cars to get from the BC port to Toronto? I suspect it would take at least a week.

We have things shipped from Montreal to Vancouver via rail all the time for my work and that takes about a week. I would suspect about the same from port to TO since they are going out on rail as well.

Hey fatZo,

Glad to hear your car is so close. As a benchmark, my dealer (Woodchester in Mississauga) told me it takes ten days from the train leaving Vancouver to deliver the car to the customer.

My experience is that this is pretty close. Mine left Van on Aug 21... I was pushing for a 31st delivery but, being the Saturday of the Labour Day long weekend, it didn't happen. The car arrived at the dealer the following Tuesday afternoon (would have been Tue morning but, due to long weekend.....) I went and supervised the PDI tuesday night, got a quick testdrive, and picked it up first thing the Wednesday morning!!

The next two weeks will be the longest two weeks of your entire life!!!!

Congrats,

See you on the road,

Default me too

My dealer just told me that he has my VIN and status is "at sea" as of September 20th. When did you get this info from your dealer? Maybe we are on the same ship?

Sup Van,

Hey man I think my car is here. I spoke wih Darsh yesterday and he said that the boat was going to dock today and they had ordered a flat bead tow truck to get the car to the dealership ASAP like tommorow or friday. Then I spoke to a buddy who works in Richmond near the docks and he said a huge ship just docked. It could be the one man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So pumped right now!!!! Ill keep ya posted if I hear any confirmation from Darsh today

I got that info last week. When I spoke with my dealer yesterday, he indicated that the car has been "in transit" for at least 4 days. I suspect it takes about 7-10 days for the car to get to TO from Vancouver. We should be getting our cars sometime next week!!!!

That's great news!
I got my VIN on Saturday. Same "At Sea" status.
Hopefully the ship that is at port is the one with my car, that would be sweet!!
