35th Anniversary
Just bought this last month, and I could not be happier. After driving BMW's most of my life, this is the first Japanese car I have ever owned, and DEAR GOD did they get it right.
I plan on getting her back to what I call improved original condition. All original, with some minor improvements like replacing all the lighting with LED's. At some point in the future I am going to have it completely re-sprayed. The paint hasn't been abused, but a re-spray would be a huge improvement
Two things are going to be a major obstacle though.
1) Someone removed the Brembo brakes that came original with the car. I already verified with Nissan that they were on the car when it was sold, not sure why anyone would take them off..
2) The OO did not get the optional "350z-35th" floor mats. I was wondering what anyone here thought of my chances of obtaining an original set would be, or should I just have copies custom made?
I was also wondering if there are any good after market companies that specialize in 350 parts? I used to deal with BMP for my BMW's and would like to find company I can trust for this car. (Yes, I looked on the web, but with Google selling it's results to the highest bidder, I figured you guys would have sorted through the chaff already.)

I can't see the pic because I'm on my computer at work but it sounds like you've been scammed like so many other people when they buy a used z, dealerships constantly do this, there was someone who posted not long ago about buying what he thought was a 35th Anniversary, dealership said it was, turns out it wasn't and I believe he is fighting the dealership in court now.
There just ins't any reason for someone to remove everything that makes that car a 35th Anniversary i.e. badges, wheels, Brembo's, etc.. why buy one if you're going to do that.

I have been wondering about the 35th claim. The weird part is that when I called Nissan directly they confirmed the vin as being a 35th Anv. release.

I've had my suspicions, and the posts here have confirmed most of them...
On the phone to Nissan USA now, going to get copies of the original documentation before I go tear into the dealership...

Verify these:
Your car is 2005
Is your car MT? > will have 7000RPM redline (rev-up engine)
Is your car AT? > will have 6600RPM redline (non-revup)
Do you have heated seats?
Do you have heated mirrors?
Do you have dual tone leather seats? (Looks like you might based on your pic)
Not only the brakes, your wheels should be 5 spoke 18"
Edit - my thinking is, you might have an anniversary edition, but the previous owner stripped off the goodies to sell privately before trading it in. Brembos goes for a few thousand maybe? Plus the wheels.
That spoiler is not stock on an anniversary either.

Ok, I should have started here with you guys. Nissan just did a more thorough search and confirmed this is NOT a 35th. I'm waiting for the paperwork from them so I have a hard copy to take to the dealership, just not real sure what I am going to say to them when I walk in the door.

Does anyone have good pics that can document the difference between the 06 and 05 bumpers?
I will take more pics tonight and post them, Thank you for all the help.
