Air bag failure with 2003 Nissans

Takata provides airbags for Nissan, and apparently there is a problem with at least the 2001 to 2003 Nissan vehicles (and it’s probably past these years).

If you are driving a 2003 350z
… What steps have you taken to insure safe operation with this vehicle?

Has the 350 just been added to the list? I check the affected vehicle list when I first heard of it and the Z was not on it

The 350z is not on the list. I suspect that eventually this car (along with at least the Altima) will make the list.

Step 1: Remove airbags.
Step 2: Install roll cage, fixed back seats, 5pt harness and steering wheel.
Step 3: Sell airbags to chumps on Ebay.

Obviously your post is meant to be facetious.

I think we need to do something past your attempt at humor. There has been deaths with hyper-exploding bags, and a woman who lost sight in an eye.

No one is taking responsibility, and that is slowing the recall.

Buying clear lens for my oakleys for driving at night, then day or night my eyes are protected.

Seriously, I thought about the decal if it happened to mine. Would I just bring it to Nissan and get a free set of bags to sell on a Ebay?

But in all seriousness, the only way you can guarantee safe operation of your Z is stop driving it until it's 100% confirmed that the Z not on the recall list.

Or wear one of these when you drive it

The 350Z is not on the list. Possibly because it is one of the few Japanese cars still actually made in Japan? Regardless, you are going to die young anyway if you keep worrying about things that are a non-issue.....
