any ideas what the noise was?
I was driving along and went over a bump. not a pothole per say, just a rough joint to a bridge. doing maybe 50mph, I drive the same road all the time.
and I hear this scraping sound... didnt sound good. its origin sounded like the passenger side rear brake but its hard to really say when your in the car.
so I pull over, and turn around to go back home and figure out what it is, as I pull into a driveway and back out, it goes away after backing up.
so what could it have been? the tire isnt flat, so I didnt do anything to a rim.
it also sounded as though it became less when I made a right turn.
ideas? should I be concerned? after it went away I went on driving for another 50miles without any noise or problems, just curious what it could have been.

I don't know, but I had a similar problem yesterday. When I would brake hard or go over bumps slow I would here this scraping sound. Finally I pull over and realize that the shop that fixed my car apparently did not pull all the screws in on the plastic stuff under the engine and it was hanging down. There were like 4 screw holes that were empty. I guess they just didnt put all the screws in. B@stards!
