Default buying a car is hard.

Not because I'm poor and cant afford it (that one kid that complained about how z/g are over priced.) Or that i have bad credit (same kid with shitty credit.)

But because i cant find the right car! Haha I'm looking for a 350z in silver or white with manual, clean title, and well taken care of. All the ones i see are autos and rebuilt title and bashed on. Same with the g. Just when i think i got one with the color i want, the tran i want. BAM rebuilt title. Haha car shopping is hard when youre picky.

I agree. I have had the hardest time finding a 2007-2008 350z manual coupe with low mileage. This is kind of making me mad.

Car shopping IS hard when you can't afford the car you want. Bad credit is a double whammy, as insurance, repairs and other car related costs rise as well. While the Z33 is a great car, maybe you need to take a step back and pick another model while you boodt your earning potential. If you want to stay in the Nissan family, how about considering a good B13-15 Sentra SE-R or a late model Maxima that can be had with a manual tranny for way less?

Just have patience. I rushed into my last car and immediately regretted it.

I really took my time to find the right Z. I even put a deposit down on a white 07 base when a buddy of mine was driving by another local dealership and saw them unloading 2 SMB Zs. Gave me a call, I drove right there and bought one that night. 08 mint with 2k miles. When you find the one it will be worth the wait trust me. 6 years later and it still puts a smile on my face.

Good luck! Don't settle, and whatever you do don't make the dealership think you are desperate. You need to be able to not create an attachment to a vehicle before you buy it. You have to walk away when you should, and only pull the trigger when it is right.

I looked diligently, almost nightly, on Autotrader, Cars.com, Ebay, Craigslist, and SearchTempest, within a 500 mile radius for the right car (Between G37S coupe, HR 350, and AP2 S2000) and it still took over 3 months.

The right deal will come. Just be patient. You'll be short of breath rereading the ad and fumbling for your phone in no time.

I got lucky when I found my Z on craigslist. It's silver, manual, and is great shape. Also came with awesome aftermarket wheels, lowering springs, interior upgrades, and was taken care of extremely well always using full synthetic oil, power heated leather seats, very few minor scratches, LED lights, and blah blah blah. Bought my 03 Touring for 11k (negotiated) with 68,000 miles. And not to mention, the guy lived a few streets down from me. lol took me about an hour to decide that i want it and then i was sold the first visit of the car haha. Only thing I had to do was replace the trunk lift supports and get new tires. Other than, car was great and still is!!

I got mine for $14,000 back in 2012 it had about 30,000 miles and was all stock. Keep searching and be patient.

it's called patience.

i went from an 07 Si, looking for an AP2 s2k or an 07+ 350Z. It was about a year later that i found an 07 350Z manual with only 16k miles on it (this was in 2011) for only 19k. Then recently, 4 years later, i recently upgraded to an 09 370Z with only 50K miles for 20K and it took me 8 months to find. The 350Z had 81k miles on it and the dealership sold 2 weeks after i traded it in.

It's easy, if you can afford a new car.

How much of a hit did you lose on your z? I've been debating on selling mine but after all is said and done I would lose $5,000-6,000.

I have a pikes peak white 2003 Track I am getting ready to sell this Spring. 53k miles, always garage or cover kept, extremely clean, no dings, scratches, or stories. Adult owned since 2006 and it has always been a 2nd or 3rd car for me. When I bought it, I traveled to get this car, as it is 1 of 100 PPW track 350Z's built in 2003, a rare car. PM me if this sounds like a good fit.

I feel your pain OP. I've been looking at used Subaru wrx's for the past several months as a fun daily driver. My budget is in the $15,000 range which limits me to something older than a 2007 and with a fair amount of miles on it, at least 60k. On top of that it's getting frustrating weeding out all of the poorly and/or heavily modified ones. "Lightly modded' in the description, yet it has all the mods that suggest it was running very high boost at some point

I'm giving you the BIGGEST middle finger I can give right now. Don't get a GTR if you save that much! Get a Porche or something kick azz like that. I love the GTR and how it's decimating everything (with 10-15k overnight parts from Japan ((lulz at Fast and Furious)), but for me it's almost TOO good. I'm sure I would be singing a different tune if someone GAVE it to me, but If I had that kind of money, I wouldn't buy a GTR. I would look for a ZR1 or something ridiculous like that. I just can't get over the auto trans. I was STUCK in an auto RX8 when I was 19-23 and I HAD to sell it for a manual Z. Now, God keeping my legs strong and able to clutch, I will never go back for a fun car. Hell, my 5spd Mazda 3 hatch is like a "rocket ship" when I'm "racing" the Dodge stratus in the other lane to the grocery store.

If all else fails, donate some of the money to the "NoQuestionZ needs money for mods foundation"

Let's not count insurance cost for an 18 year old male to drive a 350z.... Jesus Christ..

I really regret it.
Holy chit man. OP, do NOT follow in this guy's footsteps. The right car will come along.... Maybe widen your search area? A buddy of mine flew from San Diego to somewhere near Vegas to pick up his Nogaro Red Nismo with like 10 miles on it. Just a suggestion!

Good Luck!

I found it quite easy to buy my Z. I just went to the dealership and bought the car on July 1, 2003. I paid window sticker but that was ok with me. Prior to that time, the dealers had been marking them up $5,000.

what year is your Z and how much do you owe for you to lose that much? i ended up even with my trade, after 5 hours of back and forth talks and a couple walkouts. i kept basically talking up my 350Z (07 Base/HR engine/Black/81K miles/completely stock). i told them i would pay the full amount if they paid off my trade (originally, they were only going to offer 10K and my payoff amount was around 13K).

wow dude, you got taken for a ride. i bought my 07 350Z base for 17k in 2011 with only 16.8K miles. and for 400/monthly payments, your APR must be through the roof. and also, insurance was actually cheaper than the 07 Si that i traded. and at the time, i was only 22. 4 years later and with 81K when i traded the 350Z, there were ZERO issues and was extremely reliable.

it depends on if you look at the rear with and without the spoiler. without the spoiler, it does look out of proportion.
