Default 03 350z will not turn over at random

Please help,

Ive read apparently all the threads on this none suit my issue, i have a 2003 nissan 350z that works great when it starts but some days it decides it doesnt want to turn over at all. Sometimes for a minute sometimes for an hour, then all the sudden it starts. The car starts up right away as soon as it starts cranking but when this issue happens i turn the key and nothing at all happens everything goes blank.
I checked the battery and it shows that its good, 12.8v when off and 15-16v when the car is running. All the power works in the car before this happens, as well sometimes it will start to click/crank and stop halfway and cut back to nothing. Almost like it tryed to work but got cut short almost instantly, this is very annoying since lately its EVERY time i go to start it it happens. I desperately need help i am in no financial condition for a stealership bill at the moment, some helpfull information: the battery was replaced last year, clarion navigation head unit and my one and only key has a chip out of the plastic near the base.

Appreciate the help in advance

how do the terminals of the battery connections look?

it could also be the camshaft sensors, when they go bad they can cause some of the issues you are describing

Default Thanks!

Ill look into the camshaft position sensor, my battery terminals are fine i used a wire brush (battery specific) for the tterminals they are clean and making solid contact. If the sensors work thanks a million this is such a headache !

when you say it doesn't turn over do you mean it cranks and never fires up. or you turn the key and nothing happens. could be your starter.

Definitely the camshaft position sensor, I had the same exact issue. Your sensor can be loose so check that it is or not before you buy one. The connector is on the drivers side behind the engine, near the firewall.

Could also be the safety switch on the clutch pedal is bad (disregard if you have the 5AT). Easy to bypass and check. If it was the cam sensors, wouldn't there ba fault code?

Wel heres an update, its still hapenning really bad. But i stuck my finger in the clutch switch underneath the pedal with the car in neutral and turned the key and it started up. Maybe its not engaging all the way? Its only worked once so ill test this theory a few more times to see if it works consistantly. If not im gonna resort to the "CPS". Tryinf to narrow this down, not really up to pay 300$ for sensors unless i know its them!
