Nice find. Enjoyed reading the article and the dark photos. As for the engine, there's way more than just a set of cams and ti rods in that GT300 engine. Makes me wonder what he offered for a factory spec racecar with extra GT500 bodywork. My guess? $350K to half a mil.
^^^ Agree. Saw that someone posted that in the racers forum too.
While on topic, anyone happen to catch the CTSC (Continental Tires Sportscar Challenge, IMSA) at Lime Rock coverage this past weekend (event was from prior weekend with the Tudor Challenge).
Doran Racing 370Z on the podium! Third place finish in Grand Sport.
And while the Porsches (even after going off course and crashing out), Camaros, and Miatas got all the glory (TV coverage), I couldn't be happier that the Nissan/NISMO racing efforts are not just mid-pack finishes.
Hey dboyzalter- glad you found a book you like at the discount book store. But why are you inserting it into this thread? The OP found a good online article that he wanted to share. It's about what happens when a private buyer purchases a works racecar and races it in his own country.
Your book is quite interesting and I say it deserves its own thread. So why not create your own and start a discussion that doesn't detract from this one? I know I'd be willing to participate.

My bad just thought I would add more to my nice article comment. The op mentioned history so I thought people might find those particular pictures interesting. But yeah they dont blend together well.
Reading the article, said nothing about it bring a DE !
Then I love how the factory rear strut bar is still in place
I saw it being a DE referenced elsewhere when I searched the GT300 z33, then I further looked up the entry number 47 for the 2007 series and you can see on this list it's indeed a DE!
