Default Locked keys in car.

Long story short.. Was sitting in my car taking pictures of my interior. Sat on keys as they were in my pocket and locked the door.. Witht the keys in the ingition i stepped out of the car and the wind blew the door shut.. After fishing a wire into the side of the window and fully pulling the handle on both sides the door doesnt unlock.. WHY?!?!?! Guess im going to go get a new key made to unlock the door tomorrow. Any idea as to why it wont unlock?

Yeah you need to get a stiff rod and push that lever to the unlocked position. Or fish the key out and hit the unlock button... The unlock button on the controls on the door might also work for you.

Need a stiff rod... Like a big easy.. You probably dont have a big easy so a 1/8th inch ish steal rod will probably work for you...

A air jack that you probably dont have will make life easy but if yoy dont have one a door stopper wedge, or a wedge for tree cutting will work... Need to be super careful with the Windows wedging them open...

Use a sock around the rod so you dont scratch the **** out of your pillars.

Fully pulling the handle only works on certain cars... VW, Porsche, BMW, Ford trucks etc. Most Japanese cars dont give a **** if you pull the handle. If the door is locked its not going to open...

Why not use your extra set of keys and remote to open the door? If you don't have a set, you need them (and will have to get them now).

You are going to be **** out of luck with out a REAL locksmith. That airbag can and will most likely shatter your window. I did this once and luckily my neighbors son was a REAL locksmith, he put a blank in and got it marked and cut a key on the spot that was rough but enough to open the doors. He told me of all the Zs he has seen with the airbag about 1/3 will break.

The scary thing is this dude MADE a key with nothing other than a special blank key that marks up and a grinder in 5 minutes outside of my car and was able to open the door ....

Get a spare key made, $3 at most hardware stores. It may not start the car, but it will open your door. I have a $3 spare attached to a spare remote fob, one way or another I can get in my car

I locked my subarus keys in the car while it was running when I first got it. Luckily the door wasn't fully closed, it just latched so it couldn't open but there was a little gap. I used a 3/16" rod and managed to guide it through the crack and pressed the button to lower the passenger rear window.

I brake into cars all the time... Most cars are stupid easy. A few are tricky and some are for the most part not possible.

I always tell people to think of this next time you lock valuables inside and then usually unlocked in 30seconds.

Glad you got in their damage free.

Lol, I have a brake line bend in my garage for this purpose(I never lock my keys in my car though, but other people do). I use multiple plastic body fill spreaders to wedge a door open
