Default Transmission problems HELP!

Alright guys so im trying to figure out if this is a Clutch related issue or would i need to replace me whole transmission. The car does NOT grind at idle or if im sitting still and shifting through gears 1-6. but upon cruising above 3K RPM's if i clutch in and try to shift it grind like hell but ONLY until i let the clutch out. If im coasting and i push the clutch in I can hear a slight rubbing noise and then i try to shift higher than 3K and GRIIINNNNDDDD! If i'm cruising and i baby the shifter and wait about 2-3 seconds for the RPM's to go down and shift slowly it doesn't grind or will do a soft grind. but long story short, It will grind until I let the clutch out then it will stop. seems clutch related but I want to be sure before I start shedding out money. Ive checked the Slave Cylinder and it has no leaks from what i seen. Maybe a Master Cylinder problem? (I Hope) would be better than replacing whole trans.

P.S. I just got a new motor in and it didnt seem to do that before the new motor was put in.

Take it back to whoever installed the motor and tell them they did not install the tranny properly? This could be many things but that is too coincidental.

It would really help to know what year the car is. Early cars had external slave cylinder, and later cars had concentric slave cylinder.

Like PerfZ said, taker it back to whoever installed the engine.
