Default New(ish) 350z

So I have no knowledge about these cars... I had a Jaguar xj8 that literally fell apart. I was looking at some sexy European cars, but stumbled upon a 2004 350z convertible Roadster Touring 2 door with 15,000 miles for $13,900. Garage kept as a second car -looks, drives, and feels brand new. I jumped on it (just yesterday) and am now a proud member of the z club. This thing is FUN to drive. I have a couple questions though.... How many miles are typical for this car? 100k? 150? Fewer? More? And is there anything I need to worry about or get taken care of before I put some miles on this? And was this a good buy? Or anything else I should know/ask.... Would love some feedback from the experts! Thanks!

Sounds like you got a good deal man.

These cars hold up really well you probably won't run into much. Maybe a window motor.

wow, great deal! Wish my Z had as little miles as yours does. Must be super clean. Post some pics when you get a chance.

Got any plans with it? Anything you're about to upgrade or change?

I'm not really sure... Since the purchase I've read some reviews and mods seem to be popular with this car. I really wouldn't know where to start though. Any recommendations?

Depends on what your plans are. Mines going from dream owned car for the street to on a trailer track car. Whats your end goal?

Well, it depends on if you want to mod for looks or mod for performance.

For looks, I'd recommend getting some wheel spacers if you'll be rocking your stock wheels for a while. Coil overs or lowering springs are also a popular mod to do for a more aggressive look and better handling. Perhaps a stillen splitter would also be of interest to you. Lastly, a shorter antenna; easy and affordable for a more stylish look.

There are many mods you can do to improve performance. The most popular would be a cold air intake and a plenum spacer. High flow cats and a new exhaust are also a nice choice for both looks and performance as well as sound. I recommend the indivia Gemini exhaust system. Or the invidia N1 as well as an Agency Power one if you want to be heard all around the world. After you feel like you've gotten all the performance mods done, you should definitely invest in an UpRev tune.

That's pretty much a brief list of things you can do if you so choose to.
Oh, and if you decide you want wheel spacers, I can ship mine out to you for free. They're just collecting dust after I changed my wheels. I've used them for less than a thousand miles and they're still in excellent condition.

learn how to drive it first, not being a dick just being honest. there are several autocross that take place (most in fort worth or mineral wells) it is a bit of a drive but at least you can sling it around and not hit anything. here is the schedule

http://dfwautocross.com/

if drifting is more your thing, or if you just want to watch, upshift videos is out at mineral wells airport a bit for drift events.. you can ride along with people if they will let you, you just have to have a helmet

With so few miles, it may still have the original tires. That may be a safety issue you'll want to address first.

My car drives and feels like it's brand new, too.
