Mystery injectors. Old school perhaps?
Long story short, I bought a twin turbo G35 for dirt cheap from an owner who had no knowledge about his car. It was badly in need of a tune, running reallllly rich and had some misfire codes. Tuner said injectors were maxed out and assumed they must be stock.
So I buy some 600cc injectors and start switching them out, only to find that the new ones don't have the same plug connection, but rather the square Bosch-type connection. I also notice that the fuel rail spacers are about 3/4" aluminum pieces instead of the shorter black ones that are stock. After taking out the injectors, they are definitely not stock, but I have no idea what they could be. No markings anywhere except for D3181BA on all of them. They are also 1/2" longer than the stock injectors (which would explain the fuel rail spacers). Finally, they are much fatter than normal injectors. My buddy said they look like old school injectors back when they made them extra big for solenoid dampening.
Has anyone seen injectors like these used on our cars before? It's driving my nuts trying to figure out what type and how much fuel these injectors flow. Also, if anyone knows roughly how thick the stock fuel rail spacers are, I would love to know that info so I can shave down these thick aluminum spacers!
