Default 2008 Low Beam Bulbs?

Looking to replace my low beams with something brighter, I Have issues driving at night cause of bad eyes. But these seem super dim compared to my other car.

Is there something i can upgrade the low beam bulbs to that will increase intensity?

08 came with HID you might just need new 5,500k hid bulbs.

Are your lights aimed properly? There is only one bulb in the '08 HID housing, for both beams, and there is a shutter to modify the beam pattern cutoff for the low's. Do you know how to aim them?

You may also just have sh!tty bulbs. You should only use the OEM-quality Morimoto, or the German-made Philips, Sylvania, or Osram. 4300K-5500K are OK, but the best vision will come with the 4300K OEM bulbs. Avoid cheap Chinese-made bulbs, and buy from a reputable vendor.

No, you may need to adjust the aiming of the projector, which effects both beams. You need a fairly long #2 Phillips screwdriver, and the aiming screw is on the inner edge of the housings, accessible with the hood open. Basically, you want the low beams to be parallel with the ground. You can park the car maybe 20 feet from a vertical wall, measure the height of the projector lens, and mark the wall at the same height. Aim so the cutoff is on that line, or maybe just slightly below.

This is for the older lights, but it shows where the screw is located - same procedure:

After my accident my new headlights were pointed down and I couldn't see anything. Took under 5 minutes to adjust both. As dcains said, long Phillips and park about 20 feet from a vertical wall. I put tape on where I wanted the cutoff to be and adjusted the headlights. Made a world of a difference.

Not quite. Show me an aftermarket LED that performs half as well as the original HID in a set of OEM projectors. And, one that doesn't cost 3x as much for that crappy performance. Not holding my breath.

OEM LED headlights are amazing and better than HID, but aftermarket LEDs are not there yet.

I have LED bulbs as my high beams on my R1 and they are just for show. The look super bright when you look at the bike but the output is horrendous. I would put them on par, maybe even less than halogen bulbs.

2007-2008? HID projection?

you might be looking for "D2S" which come in 3000K - 8000K depending on which you feel comfortable with. yellow-white-purple emitting light.

Installation tip though the bumper has to come off to take out the whole headlight (each side) to get to each bulb.

Bulb brands Phillips (85.00) or I go to DDM tuning and get a Chinese equivalent, maybe better for (25.00)

2007-2008 headlights have larger projection lenses

You may be using a similar headlight to this (pictured)

No need to pull off the bumper and remove the headlight assemblies to change bulbs. If you want to change the right bulb, for example, turn the steering to full left lock, pop a few of the rivets/screws off the front section of the fender liner, peel back the liner, and you can reach the rear of the headlight. Be sure to have the bulb fully-seated, or the beam pattern will be way off and the light will be dim.

Don't buy cheap, Chinese-made bulbs, and don't buy anything hotter than 5500K. If your goal is to improve your night vision, don't be a ricer, and quality bulbs will likely last for the life of the car.

These are great bulbs with excellent visibility, high quality construction. They burn hotter and therefore don't last quite as long as the OEMs, but they improved visibility at night (at least for me). Nice crisp white color, no blue or purple ricey stuff. I love them.

Of course you can't go wrong with the OEMs, they look/work great as well, but have a more yellow color to them.

As others have noted, you need to make sure you have the bulbs fully seated in their sockets. There is a hinged spring clip that needs to be pulled out to properly seat the bulb. If the bulbs are not fully seated you will get terri-bad results.

Default D2s 5500k

Gundam Nissan headlight harness molexes. My fingers have gone numb trying to detach, but plugging them back in are way easier.

5500K was a great choice of light output because I had 6000K in there for a year and 6000K was too light. 5500K seems stronger.
