i bought a 2003 touring automatic last july. MSRP was 33,600 i told them i would buy it for 31,00 and they accepted. If you go at the end of the month you have a better chance at getting money off, They have to meet a sales quota at the end of each month. I got about 2600 off the asking price

I purchased '04 Touring Automatic Leather with splash guards, aluminum kick plates, cargo convenience package, floor mats and trunk mat.

Total $33K out the door cost.

The dealer had to order the car since they were unable to find any LeMans Sunset any where around.

ssk0771, at which dealership did you get your Roadster? I'm looking into getting one myself in the comming months. I'm over in Venice Beach.

Also, this will be my first new car purchase so any hagling advice that any one can offer would be greatly appreciated

Thanks for the info. Nice, I was actually there last Sunday. Being 6'6" I wanted to make sure I fit Once I figured out how to lower the seat, it was all good. Though I sat in a Coupe as the Roadsters where all in the backlot.

Oh, what was the "VPP" you mentioned before?

This is when you have a friend or a family that works for Nissan. They can get you a special number which qualifies you to buy a car at certain price. Its ususally a set price base on number that your friend or family gives you.

The key to getting a good deal is to know how much the car cost the dealer (at least as close as you can get), decide how much you are willing to pay, and then stick to that. Don't be afraid to walk out of the dealership. The salesman will call you every day wanting to know what they can do to put you in that car. Just stick with your offer and they will come around to your way of thinking in most cases. If not, go to another dealership. You *will* be able to pay your price as long as the dealer is making a profit on the sale.

Hey guys, new poster here.

I have an '04 Touring Roadster in Silver Chrome fully-loaded (nav, side air bags, manual 6, 18" wheels, seat cargo, trunk cargo, front spoiler, splash guards, mats, kick plate, etc etc) with 2,200 miles on it.

MSRP was $40,370, and the dealer tried to tack on another $6,087, including a "market adjustment" of $5,000. They claimed the market adjustment was due to folks buying the car off the lot and then making 5 grand re-selling the car. Just a greedy dealer with a premium car if you ask me.

I paid $40k even, and felt damn lucky. In a nosey moment, I had seen the dealer's Z call sheet on another salesguy's desk, and every Z scheduled to come in during the next 3 months already had a deposit on it--real folk's names & addy's and real cash down averaging probably 10% of the MSRP. I don't think the call sheet was a sales prop; it looked legit. Then again, I had Z-lust from seeing the car, so who knows.

I completely lucked into getting the one I got; it was a "buy now or buy never" moment. I think the sticker shock was what kept it there for the 3 days it was in the showroom when I bought it.

... with 2,200 miles on it...

er, don't let the 2,200 fool you. I bought it with 5 miles on it; the rest of the miles are mine. Most with the top down, and all spent in heaven.

straderp, what's your monthly payment? If you don't mind me asking. That's what mine is going to cost. I would like to try and get a monthly that's below $500 if negotiatingly possible.

I was at a dealer today and finally sat in a roadster. Sweet, sweet, candy.

The manager came in when the sales guy I was talking to asked about the options I wanted. They would have to "Dealer swap" for the car I want (see avatar) if I got it from there. He said the car would go for between $40 and $45. Nissan page gave me the above total, $40,390, and that's what I'm going to stick too.

This probably does`nt help you, but I just bought a silverstone performance model. Here in Vancouver, Canada the MSRP is $46350 including $950 PDI. I got it for $43750.

No no, that helps. As long as I see people who get a reduction off the MSRP I feel more confident in trying to get the same.

I put down $2,500 and got 4.75% for 5 years through the credit union, so the payments are right around $700. If you want the payment under $500, you're going to have to put more cash down.

If you financed $27,000 for 5 years at 4.75%, your monthly payment would be around $500. If you get a better rate, you could put less down.

I got 4.28% for 5 years through NMAC. I financed $32K and some change. I put down $7000. My payment is around $580. I am thinking of refinancing this at 4.45% through work and making it 6 year term. With NMAC, if you finance a car for 6 years, the rate will go up more than 1% which will make it 5.5%.
