Default Base or Enthus. Model?

Howdie, im 17(yeah I know) and currently drive an Acura RSX Type-S. I test drove a 6-Speed Z today(a Silverstone track) but i was looking to buy a Base or Enthus. Model, but the Enthus they had was around 29,xxx. While the base was 27,xxx. My parents of course are buying the car, and I know I can almost certainly get a base, which I would love but would I lose that much performance over the enthus. because of the lack of a LSD and Traction control?

atleast i wasnt 100% sure that the 27,xxx is a base, the sticker just said 350z while all the other cars said track or touring, i didnt see any that said Enthus, also the sticked didnt say anything about the TCS or LSD on the 29,xxx.

I know I shouldnt be stuck up about this I honestly am not tyring to if you thnk I am im sorry I just really am curious as to how much the lack of LSD and TCS will hender me.

Last question is the base seemed to have Xenon projectors(it had the exact same headlights/housing/everything as the track which I know had Xenon), I thought the 2003/4 bases didnt have Xenon, just the Enthus and up did.

Your parents are stupid, keep the car you are in, don't get greedy because being 17 you will drive fast and you will do something stupid in it.

robcassell is probably right, but only probably. also I have no doubt his is not the first post in this thread of that kind, so Ill spare you that(besides, I was a whopping 19 when I got mine, though I had my stupid move)

anyway. the differences are TCS, LSD, homelink, cruise control, HID.

TCS of course is just a safety feature, and in a high powered car, very well worth it. its not gonna flip over when you try to go without it though. but it can help reel you in if you get a little happy .

LSD, its a performance thing, helps with launches and cornering. but normal driving you'll never know it. your current car doesnt have it either.

the base I beleive is made to appear as though it has HID, but it does not. the rest do.

you guys dont need to say dumbass remarks like why the hell are you getting this car. His parents are obviously not stupid if they are making the money to buy there son a car like a 350z while still paying for everything else. Did he ask for your opinion on him getting the car? He wanted to know what the difference was btween the base and enthusiast so just give him the answer, if he does something stupid in the car it is his own fault.

Oh yah if you can get an enthusiast go for that. If not the base is a fine they are both amazing cars.

Man this is cute, I already have a RSX Type-S which is by no means a slow car (top end wise) so if I was going to **** up I would have by now. I have never been at fault in an accident. I have been rear ended two times, while i was stopped at a stop light both times hit by drunk drivers. So I dont want my car anymore because two rear endings and my car doesnt feel the same. I have never had a speeding ticket or been pulled over for that matter because I dont drive like a dumbass, I hope to one day auto-cross and as I get older road race. Which can be done in a RSX-S but id rather have a car designed for it.

yes I could get an enthus. but I just dont feel like asking again to upgrade even more so than I am, I am just looking for an easy upgrade from my RSX to a 350z, which has already been somewhat agreed upon, now if I pull the "I want one model up" they would probably be pissed off. I have gone through 2 cars in the past 9 months, first car a was a 2003 Infiniti Qx4 which I didnt ask for they bought for me thinking id like it. Then we traded that in and I got my RSX Type-S but they knew the whole time I wanted a 350z. So they are getting sick of me "changing" my mind on what car I "want" but ive wanted the same car for the past 2 years or so.

Also I know what traction control and LSD do, I was just wondering if there is a difference in the base 1/4 mile times with the other models, and also how much that would effect my times in auto-x/road racing.

I have a Base model and I don't "miss" the TCS and LSD. I live in Florida, too, where it rains a lot and I haven't had any traction problems. As far as the LSD, I test drove an Enthusiast with it, but I can't tell a difference without more driving time compared to my Base. I'd say go for the Enthusiast if you want cruise control, xenon, garage door/auto-dimming rear view mirror, LSC, TCS. I didn't need any of those (I do like xenon lighting, though), so $2,000 wasn't worth it.

your car is a less powerful front wheel drive car...a lot more forgiving than rear wheel drive car with 100 ft/lbs more tq than your honda.

have never been at fault in an accident.
youve been driving for ONE year.

anyway, i'd go with a base model...in my opinion traction control is annoying and adds more weight. but in your case...since you are inexperienced, i suggest going with TC. the LSD is good, but there are a few companys out that offer upgraded LSD's that offer more lock-up than the stock one.

but if you want my honest opinion...i say your spoiled and youve already got a nice car. the fact that your parents bought you a brand new Infiniti luxury SUV and you werent happy, then they buy you RSX-S, and you change your mine, now you want another car pisses me off. and all this happened within one or one and a half years??? just shut the hell up and quit whining.

My birthday is tommorow, so two years, exactly in about 3 1/2 hours, so no not ONE year, would be exceptable if you made it lowercase instead of trying to be hard and making it all caps.

The fact i dont drive like a dumbshit is all the proof my parents and I need to show I am mature enough to drive this.

If I get into and im not speeding, the car wouldnt have mattered, that and kids that want to drive like dumbshits are going to drive like dumbshits no matter what they drive, im sure youve seen it, old 91 integra LS on steelies speeding around. Wouldnt matter if he had an Enzo, hes still going to drive like a dumbass. Old 70 yearold people driving GT2s, they can be feebles, but htey dont push their cars, I really honestly dont speed around, go look on clubrsx.com for a post about me being speed racer, wont find any.

Maturity is more important than age, looking on your forums how many "mature" people have totaled their 350z because they are dumb****s? Get off my *** because im only 17(18 on the 20th), I know alot of kids are dumbasses, but so are adults, and old people. It depends on the person.

Ahh so lets see, once again, im not a dumbass and have been driving since i was 14 (learned to drive a manual on a 240sx and a old *** Volkswagen Karmann Ghia, that was my grandfathers) so I learned at a very young age how to drive and to respect cars, I am not dumb enough to drive around stomping the throttle into every turn while its wet outside. Also, who gives a **** if I die a horrible death from speeding, be it in a 350z or a 1985 Accord. If im going to **** up its going to be in whatever car i am driving, yes the 350z does have RWD and 274 ft-lb of torque, but if you know how to control the car and more importantly yourself whats it matter?
but if you want my honest opinion...i say your spoiled and youve already got a nice car. the fact that your parents bought you a brand new Infiniti luxury SUV and you werent happy, then they buy you RSX-S, and you change your mine, now you want another car pisses me off. and all this happened within one or one and a half years??? just shut the hell up and quit whining.
Okay want to try and give me **** for being "spoiled" there is always someone richer than you, that might jut so happen to be me. Did I sit here and say "ha im only 17 and im getting a 350z?" no sure as hell didnt, grow up. Do you honestly think calling someone spoiled in an insult? Im not being stuck up in any way until about this point. Also its called reading comprehension buddy, Im pretty sure I said "first car a was a 2003 Infiniti Qx4 which I didnt ask for they bought for me thinking id like it. Then we traded that in and I got my RSX Type-S but they knew the whole time I wanted a 350z. So they are getting sick of me "changing" my mind on what car I "want" but ive wanted the same car for the past 2 years or so." So lets see, i didnt want either car "sir". If my parents have money to burn, let them burn it. I am not sitting here trying to get a G35 Coupe with all the trimmings am I? I am deciding over a base or enthus model of a 350z, Sure if I bitched all night long I could get a Track model but I am a very modest person I wear $15 shirts that I get off the internet and dickies pants I get at walmart. Im not some yuppie prep, that wants everything handed to him, yes I want nice things but if I dont get this car will I ***** to my friends about it? No, so grow up and stop assuming and judging people.

So who is next to call me/my parents stupid for getting a teenager a 350z? If you do make sure its a valid arguement.

One thing that is sad is that a "kid" in your eyes is being alot more mature about this than some of you "adults"

Also, I dont plan on street racing and I dont. By your logic of me being spoiled if I wanted to slap a turbocharger on my RSX and shove a huge sound system into my car and go around thinking im hot **** by all means I could. But my car is BONE STOCK other than tint, everything is OEM.

Not even any factory options.

Just for those of you who think im ********ting because im sure there are atleast one of you guys out there because there always is.
http://www.cardomain.com/id/en_glaived

Picture was taken right after superbowl because someone thought I was ********ting, im to lazy and my car is to dirty to go out there and take another one and for Tampa its damn cold.
