Default Can this be true "VIN #0001"

I ran across this Autotrader ad and my jaw hit the floor, the seller is claiming to be selling an 03 with VIN #0001. This is truly a rare find, only wish I had spare funds to buy this one. Here's the link:

Could be- I recall Nissan sold the first production Z at a auction to raise money for a charity. If, as the ad says, this Z has a "well-documented history", any buyer should be carefully scrutinizing it. The other item to recognize is, that silver Z is basically a museum piece with only 200 miles on it. Certainly not a DD...

Some NOS, a 2" drop, CF hood and decals, and that car is ready for the road!

(Yeah, I wish I had $50K laying around too.)

As a pre-order customer, I recall nav was an option for the track.

Whooooaaaaaaaaaaa..... #1.

I want that. I've always wanted to start up a Datsun/Nissan museum. Maybe now is the time to hit up some VC friends of mine.

But then, where am I going to find a Z432R to sit next to it?

Hmmmmmmm......

Oh, and by the way...

Zak is looking to get banned.

So wrong, so very very very wrong. Even said in jest.

Can you imagine some rich guy's son getting that for 16th BD and coming on here asking, "So what mods should I do first?" ARRRRRGH, I think I just threw up a little.

Well, we can always wax nostalgic about that thread regarding the bad body kit with all the drywall screws. That one went national too. In fact, I think that's how I learned about this website; someone posted a link to it on the 3G Mitsubishi Eclipse forums.

The trip odometer reads more miles than the regular odometer. What's up with that?

Couldn't an automatic Z have a 0000001 # too? I mean any number or letter can be changed before the last 6 digits. The questions is did they ever use the last 6 digits more than once

for example the first automatic
or the first standard

Doesn't mean this is the "first one off the assembly line" but probably pretty close to it

VINs are based on chasis order and although the type of transmission would be reflected in the VIN description on file, it wouldn't be reflected on the chasis number that rolled off the assembly line.
