Default Maxim - Import of the year

If you check out October's Maxim mag they have rated numerous cars. The 350 Z received 2003 Import of the year. I believe it will be the first of many honors. Besides the Z there are alot of other cool cars being rated.Go to http://www.maximonline.com/index.html and there is a video clip with a couple of quick shots of the 350Z.

What's the saying? There's no such thing as bad press?

I think what he's saying is that Maxim's not exactly the world renowned authority on automotive issues.

It would be kinda like Playboy voting the Z car of the year. Nice to see, but what do they really know about cars anyhow.

I can't wait to see the "of the Year" awards start piling up from the REAL magazines this year!!!

Many of us have claimed that we only subscribe to Playboy to read the articles. Now you come out and say they don't know anything about cars!! That's sacrilege.

Now that I have an excuse, I think I'll buy a copy of Maxim.

In Maxim, the test driver was a NASCAR guy. Hey said that he wishs for more acceleration out of 3rd gear.

Note to Maxim: Just because he is a race car driver, doesn't mean his testing ablities are good for normal autos.

LOL, my sentiments exactly. He also called the brushed aluminum, stainless steel. Sheesh.

Michael.

Hey, for all you Brickyard fans out there. The shot of the Z in the Maxim video was in the brickyard. It looked pretty sweet.

I couldn't fathom how they could award the Crossfire as a segment car of the year choice when it's not even available until next spring?
Aside from that however, I really see a LOT of Benz in that effort. Gorgeous lines but a little too south on the hp for my tastes. I suspect the Z will earn more than its share of awards but I wonder who will be its principal competition in the GT class, price considering as well?
