Default Trimming Crash Bar

Got an AMS GT front bumper, but it doesn't fit over the OEM crash bar.

Anyone trimmed their crash bar down to fit?
How much needs trimming off?
Does it need welding back up after?

Cheers

I personally wouldn't trim it due to integrity loss. If anything cut it off, find a reputable and durable bash bar that would allow the bumper to fit and have it professionally welded on. Don't skimp when it comes to safety. My opinion though.

I agree with Gadget. Safety first.. Here's the link to the tubular crash/drift bar: https://frsport.com/Drift-Armor-Z33-..._p_123147.html

And just to be clear. You're not talking about the foam part, right?

It can be cut, but only the areas in blue.

Did you really ask how much other people needed to trim when there is 1,000 bumpers with 10,000 different demensions out there? Lol

Just sell it and buy a actual bar bash bar. Sized to fit your new bumper.

Not to take this too far OT, but if it's a real racecar, the Z33 aluminum bumper bar remains an important part. Whether it's the best place to pull from as a tow point, a superior way to dissipate crash energy going off-track, or a strong point to bump draft, I wouldn't delete it.

Yeah. Trim it until it's invisible.
