Dead Battery. No Crank...
Ok so last night I was working on my turbo and accidentally left the key in the on position for about an hour. Car is dead.
But now it will not crank over. We hooked a jumper pack to it. I have it connected to another car right no and nothing. 14v and nothing. No clip, no attempt nothing.
I don't see any blown fuses. BUT the car will push start it self if I roll and pop it in gear. So it cant be NATS. I ran system codes and no codes. All dash lights work and function, injectors prime. Everything works accept the actual starter.
Wtf could make it no engage the starter at all, but push start from a dead battery? If it is the starter how does it die from a dead battery?
Im really confused on this one.
All I did was take my turbo off and some of the exhaust sections. Other than that I didn't touch a thing.
Car is running weird when its on too. B1 is normal 14.5 AFR.. But rank 2 idles at 13.2 ish....

But having the jump pack and having the other cars connected to it should replicate that. Especially when hooked up the volts show 14v
I mean I could try but that doesn't explain why the starter isn't even cranking and all my gauges are running.

Which part of the exhaust system were you working on? I'm guessing very close to the headers since you mention taking off your turbo, but want to double check. The starter motor itself is located on the passenger side of the bell housing, very close to the exhaust header & downpipe/cat coming off bank 1. I recommend double checking all the wiring going to the starter. There should be a direct feed from the battery to the starter. The starter itself I think reaches ground through the block, so make sure all your engine ground connections are still solid!
If you had to disconnect a grounding strap on the engine to reach your turbo or exhaust, it's very easy to miss or forget when putting things back together.
Good Luck!

Yup that's exactly where I was. Dam it I gatta get back under there.
I did disconnect one clip plug but I put it back in right after. I'll go and check. I didn't know it had wiring down that way tho.

Maybe 30-35 times is all. Hey, that averages less than once a year. But yeah, if one NEVER makes a mistake working on a car, you're not working on a car. Paper cuts from the credit card receipt doesn't count either.
