Presuming you are talking about the sub-woofer of a Bose system (non-Bose only has the 6.75s back and on top of the storage bins.)

So here's the thing, if its Bose, you can "only replace it with another 10" Bose speaker" because of impedance mismatch with ANYTHING else out there. The Bose speaker impedance is something like 0.5 ohm (whereas most other systems are 4 ohm). If you want to replace it, figure on replacing the amp as well (or...there MAY be adapters out there but I'm not sure.) Typically, when upgrading from a Blose (sic) system, people throw out the entire HU-amp-speaker set up and start afresh. Much better results that way. But if you just want to preserve the car as is and replace just the sub, shop around for a good condition used one, pop it in and done. Quick Fleabay search: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...eaker&_sacat=0

Possibly, there may be other 0.5 ohm subs that are suitable in the size you need. Take a look around.

^^^ this.

One other thing to note, the factory Bose sub space is not sealed. If you just put in an aftermarket sub in the OEM sub location with an aftermarket amplifier, the plastic trim panels are going to rattle like crazy and the sound will be terrible. There are posts on here where some have tried to seal the space to make it an enclosure, but it has not turned out well.

Best results have been from people that make a small, sealed custom enclosure to fit in the space and then secure it down while using dynamat or the sound dampening equivalent to line the inside. You can maintain the factory appearance by putting the Bose grille back on to conceal it.

You can try a free-air sub, but the sound quality is going to be lacking compared to a sealed setup.
