Default Timing at idle is 44-45 degrees

So sometimes I have an issue my car will randomly not start or quit on me. Once or twice a week. Doesn't throw codes. When running a Torque app and looking at all main sensors my timing shows 42-45 degrees idle depending on temp. Most of the time the car idles fine smooth. Everything else looks good. One of the times it wouldnt start it was throwing a vdc, slip light but the codes wouldn't show until I like moved the car. Basically foot on break, park to drive to park and it will read codes but this time wouldn't. So I pressed to clear the codes and than the car quit at that very instant. It did start fine with no issues. It did give me a cylinder 2 misfire a week ago but I changed that plug first.

Is it safe to drive, my timing at idle has always read between 10-15 degrees

It's an 03, auto.

Well I found my issue.

The connector was perfect but dirty. It's amazing what people will ignore on cars

Hard diagnosis without having access to the car. Glad you found the problem.
