Default Anyone know what this wire/sensor is??

Pulling down my boost piping to finally replace my toasted clutch. And came across this....

Its on the passanger side and wraps around the transmission to what looks like a sensor on the driver side by the driveshaft. Speed sensor? Neutral safety switch? Anyone know what this is?

Looks like the exhaust exit off the turbo BBQ’d the sh** out of it. Looks like it has 3 fried wires and one is actually broken. The other two are still in tact but barely. (Not anymore they broke as soon as I pulled the trans)

This also serves as a warning for other boosted performance turbo kit owners to watch these wires. Looks like the stock mount location for these wires is right up against our dump pipes off the turbo hot side. Yours is probably cooking as well!

CK,

The switch on the driver side is the reverse switch. The neutral switch is on the passenger side.

likely neutral position, two wire, driver side, hops over the trans to the reverse position sensor then zips up to the main harness...

can you take a picture of the harness connector?

Since we have a disagreement as to which switch is on which side, here's a page from the Service Manual.

Sorry I’ve been neglecting the thread boys.

Been using all my free time to get my tranny and other things in order while the weather is nice.

but upon inspection you guys were correct. It’s the neutral safety switch on the pass side AND the rev light switch on the driver side. They are in the same wire loom and both got roasted.

So now I have to test each wire and find out which they go to and hopefully reword them back together properly. Seems there is 2 for each sensor, 4 wires total.

Cux hold off on that. I’m going to try and salvage what’s left and rewire them back in. If not I may have to hit you back on those.

Also found this for anyone in the future.

Again guys running Sasha’s kit keep an eye on this. Exhaust dump off the turbo runs right by these wires.
