Default Cone/shim wont fit on new Ball joint

I replaced my drivers front lower balljoint with a duralast one and the stock cone doesnt fit on the new one. Anybody have issues with this? I cant put it back together since it doesnt have a cone on it.

What year is your car?
The ball joints changed and so did the cones in 2005ish.
Sounds like you have the wrong ball joint.
Which part number did you get?

I believe 06 was the upgraded joint.

That should be correct.

I went with the Mevotech for my 07, but have yet to install. Quality on them feels good so far, ball joint experiences have been hit or miss for the 350z from what I've seen on the forums regardless of brand.

The duralast part number is BJL148 which pressed in right its just the cone that's not fitting properly.
